yes with nokia partner website access, you can check where the unit came from (or actual country it supose to be released) as well as if its under warranty or not based on its IMEI.
however, even though i have access to 2 different partner sites. in many cases the IMEI is not in the database!

wierd nga eh its as if the unit doesnt exsist hehehe. its not a full proof in that regards. also the estimate 15months isnt accurate always, thus its the recipt when the phone was purchase acts as the final reference for warranty status.
