quad sli was never an efficient gaming option......... its increase over standard sli was never more than 12% and sometimes its even less than standard sli..........

Yes i was talking about the CPU also, i was merely stating that games today are bound more on the GPU and no amount of CPU power can really help you unless it scales with the GPU.
Also standard SLI is never more than 12% of gain ?? Id like to shower you with SLI and Xfire links that show more than 40% performance increase. but then again google can help you, you might be suprised that increase is more than 12% gain on ANY modern game.

i meant comparing a 2 SLI with a 4 SLI it hasn't shown a 40% perfromance increase

you were mentioning about Quad(4) SLI..... were you not??

so does a quad (4) SLI set-up really kicks the butt of a 2(standard) SLi set-up by 40%

My aging Athlon XP 2800+ plus G6800 still kicks butt.
No reason to upgrade yet.
Will possibly upgrade on 2008 when VISTA is really that stable and of course, the app support.

Id rather get a E6600 for the cost of $315 and beat the hell out of the FX62/64

Depends on how low AMD is going to dive, still with a mere 30% drop the price performance of conroe is still better than AMD's current offering.
rememer E6600 is at $315 retail, that should translate around 18,000 in philippines ( not taking account the overpicing of the distro )

i'll wait for DX10 nya to be followed na na ang other upgrades.. currently daghan pa dyud nay mausab. since bag.o pa dyud kaayo nang conroe..
