Generally speaking in regards to the social and political climate in Mindanao. It has been too long we co-existed with outlaws just so we can say there is actually peace down south. Anyone who believes that these so-called Peace-Talks still works down there is in illusion. Peace talks don't promote peace, they just prolong the suffering. The problem with Filipinos is we always get caught up in the "words". We'd rather live in pretenses of peace with an enemy that doesn't honor or value anything we stand for than support a sound cause to battle and eradicate them so we can actually have REAL PEACE. We have been treating the idea of Peace like a beautiful woman - everybody wants to have her, and when they get her they can either respect, honor and preserve her or they end up treating her nothing more than a luxurious trendy material that can come and go anytime they are done or bored by it.

The irony of this self-proclaimed information-fed, please-everyone generation is whenever you say, "those criminals should be wiped out", you'll be branded as a "warmonger". Some kind of a war-junky, who does not value "oneness" and harmony. A lot of people seem to think that if you don't have an opinion about the issue, the better. At least, not until food-prices skyrocket, or a relative gets involved or dies because of these criminal acts. In the Mindanao conflict, media always portray it as a religious war, but it is not - it is just a bunch of criminals (who happen to be Muslim radicals) running around being chased by the government (predominantly Christian) and unfortunately politics and politicians (blood-sucking animals) come around there too. In the current massacre where many journalists died, I hope more people not just Filipinos but also western liberals will accept some things are not really complicated. You can always stand firmly in the right and know it. There are no gray areas.
