"The index chose the tiny South Pacific Ocean archipelago of Vanuatu as the happiest country on Earth."

unya bro naa interview from someone there mao ni iyang sulti...

"People are generally happy here because they are very satisfied with very little," he told The Guardian. "This is not a consumer-driven society. Life here is about community and family and goodwill to other people. It's a place where you don't worry too much. The only things we fear are cyclones or earthquakes." AFP

by the way this news really intrigued me so i went to the New Economics Foundation website...i downloaded the complete report about the research...interesting sad oi...wala pa lang ko nahuman ug basa kay 59 pages man!

One basis for rating a country's happiness is by basing through its suicide rates...

Some countries like Japan and in Europe had high suicide rates, not because they don't have any money.. In fact, they can almost buy anything they want.. the problem is, they are not contented with their lives, that's why because of sadness and uncontentness, they just end their life.

In our country, suicide is still present but is minimal compared to those countries I mentioned above..

But still, it's much better that we are emotionally and financially happy...

I'm not really sure why everyone is happy about this as it only shows that people are content with how life is in the Philippines which only means that there is less drive to improve. When one is usually content there is almost no need to change anything anymore. I don't think the Philippines is in any shape to think that way~we're doomed.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you
