You can't compare Philippines to US, this thought of JFK is too idealistic and best suit for them only.

We don't have a President like Richard Nixon who step down becuase of watergate scandal and give way for a transparent investigation. Puros baga ug nawong bisag klaro na kaayo na naay anomaliya mao pay mo pugong.

Wala ra ka kumingking ang watergate scandal in the US compare to defunct ZTE broadband deal pero wla jud ni give way atong presidente for the investigation to prosper. Klaro raba kaayo nga ga duwa silag golf with ZTE officials. Pait..

If we try to evalute this, we are allowing the politicians to corrupt us...we are a mere accomplice. D man cguro mamroblema ang tanan if we start honesty on ourselves, even in the little way...
You can do better by saying it to public or create public awareness for responsible voting, those society or group of people you've noticed better approach them and edecute them to be a responsible voter.

We are not a mere accomplice but of some of us are victims of poor political system. We can't blame people accepting money from politician they are unaware and uneducated on the result or effect of there actions.

If we want change start from ourselves, if you know somoene who are unaware, educate him/her, guide hime/her and lead him/her. Sharing one's knowledge is the best rather than accusing someone, hear there sentiments and act on there sentiments.

This essay is based only on the thoughts of a single Korean, it is not based on any verifiable scientific study. There may be corruption in Korea, but it has never been as bad as it is here. Corruption is not the only reason our country is poor, for certainly laziness and parasitic behavior also compounds the problem of poverty, but it is a major if not leading cause of poverty.

But really we should not even be trying to compare ourselves with Korea, the sad fact of the matter is, even without corruption and even if we loved our country and worked the hardest we could, we would never be able to match them because of the simple fact that they are just smarter. Compare their average IQ with ours. It's no contest. IQ is a major predictor of wealth. That being said, this should not mean that we should be content with where we are. Even considering our IQ, we should at least be as wealthy as Thailand since they have about the same average intelligence as ourselves. I believe the reason why Thailand is wealthier is down to two things: less corruption and less population. You see, they, unlike us, unshackled by the wicked and single-minded Catholic priests, instituted population control several decades ago and have been reaping the rewards (in terms of improved economic prospects) ever since...

It's because of our jealousy and crab mentality........ a big example for this is The Province, you know what they're doing against the City. Now, how would you expect this country to prosper when our biggest hindrance are our own brethren?

most filipinos are not patriotic in heart mostly sakay lang sa uso because of music and arts...

if you trully love your country do it dont say it... most people especially the youth they keep on saying that they love the country and yet sa storya ra diay to... to site some of it:

    Voters Registration
If you really love this country, you should have registered dugay ra dili na magpa abot sa deadline, busy/walay time?, you love your country man kaha, then you should make a small sacrifice... coz by the end of the day what you did can make a big difference in our life. (except sa bag-o lang nag 18 masabot rana)

    Environment
If you really love this country, then start caring for our home.... sige tag ingong nga dapat mag recycle ta, mang limpyo ta.... in the end sulti ra diay to.

    Law
If you really love this, you should follow law, ordinance from the littlest to the biggest, sige a reklamo daghan kurakot... and yet some of us nga sige reklamo nag buhat pud in a different way... mao ning giingon.. kinsa tong limpyo ug walay sala maoy mobato sa nakasala.. (quite familliar eh?)

actually daghan kaayo mga aspect sa ato society nga maka ingon ta nga dili jud love sa filipino ang pilipinas... kutob ra sa mga fashion, kanta ug arts and not by action and in heart....

if you really love your country, do it in your little way... you dont need to stand on a crowd just to boast that you love your country.... a simple act of patriotism will go along way... and will teach this to my child soon...

until we learn to love our country, we will never move on...
