@ ej: it was Norton 2009 bro and it did work fine. i didn't even notice nga bugat siya. aside from it being an internet firewall, it also detects bugs from other plug-in devices such USB drives, etc.

@kazki: What do you recommend bro? right now, I have uninstalled norton, installed Kaspersky internet security 2010(just an official 30 day trial I downloaded to observe how it works before purchasing a 1 year subscription). So far I'm not quite impressed by it. After installing, I updated it right away and it took a while. When you hit the update button it resets the download progress back to 0.

The Norton Internet Security 2009 in my Pavilion PC just expired 5 days ago and I am caught in between buying a counterfeit version or downloading a renewal of the said software online. There's so much difference between the price of both but I am also putting reliability into consideration.

    So what do you think?

Also I want to know if anyone has already tried purchasing any software from Norton ASPAC website and was there any hidden charges?

Another thing is, do you think buying a PHP 1,360.00 for a year of protection practical enough?

Thanks ahead for your ideas!!! I appreciate them!
Well, if buying the licensed AV software will give you peace of mind, then spending a Php 4.0/day for a year is practical. IMO, there are lots of AV software out there (and some are FREE) but you can't really expect to be given 100% security. Personally, i use AVG 8.5 (free edition). I know since its free, there are features lacking but i've never had any virus/malware problems since i used it. Security/protection of the system is also the user's responsibility.

using nod32 along w/ spybot - seek and destroy and ad-aware.

gina pa run ra nko spybot - s&d og ad-aware once every week or pag naa ko bago gi download or gipansak na usb.

nod32 i got illegally, spybot and ad-aware are both free.

Yeah, I am considering 4.00PHP/day is not bad.

usik lang ni cya ug money if you really get a license one... kay i had use a norton nga security software but wa jud gamit... nasudlan pa hinuon ko ug viruses and malwares... i thought lig on cya nga software kai dugay na raba cya but as I tested it, wa jud au... and when I tried to search some reviews on the top security softwares wa jud cya maka top 1-3... naa cya sa top 5-10.... so karon lain na ako gamit and its really useful kai delete daun sa virus like downloads....
