After all that they have done to the detriment of the people in Mindanao, I don't think they could easily justify such proposal. If at all, it only creates an implied admission that some of them are losing their morale because they know the government could eliminate them, if the government will not consider any right whatsoever. After all, they have been abusing their rights too much to the extent of even sacrificing the lives of our innocent civilians and our valiant soldiers. In that regard, how can they easily ask for amnesty?

Anyhow, the government has reiterated its stand that it will continue its offensive tho these terrorists in as much as they are not doing anything to prove that they want peace. Indeed, they want to instill chaos and disorder in this country. Why would the government give them a chance?

Gordon's proposal was met by outrageous opposition and disgust both from the civilian and government sectors. Who in his right mind will agree to this apparently retarded proposal from a self-serving Senator? After all lives of our soldiers and past hostages were risked and lost, amnesty will be granted to this terrorist group?! Whatever reasons Gordon gives will never justify any forgiveness extended to the Abu Sayaff members.

Nonetheless, various officials of the government concerned with national security and peace and order have already expressed their reservations with regard to this proposal. Anyways, this proposal is more likely to be seen in trash.
