try removing startup programs that you don't need..run>msconfig>startup ...uncheck whatever you don't need at startup ...also try to change bootup values ...run>msconfig>boot.ini>Timeout = 3 sec

it also helps to run a disk defragmenter like perfectdisk 10.1, this application includes defragmenting of pagefiles and bootup files which other application does not offer...

try to remove some prefetch files...run>type prefetch % then remove the files

mga bro pls if u can help me, akong pc hinay na inig start-up, first inig on naku wallpaper una mogawas but ang mga icons og ang taskbar/start menu dugay kaayo manggawas mga 5 minutes tingale usa mogawas. nakahinumdom ko paghuman naku og install sa akong printer hinay na start-up, mao kaha ni hinungdan? thanx!

Also have your computer scanned for viruses, worms, etc. A virus set to start on start-up could gradually slowdown start-up time. Clean up your registry. I suggest using CCleaner --> CCleaner - Home

u can chose which program to enable or disable sa msconfig.

type msconfig sa run command sa start menu

thanx sa mga advice ninyo mga bro, solve na ang prob sa akong pc
ako na gibuhat ang tanan pero wa effect japon but daan pa jud lagi ko which i really suspected when after installing sa akong hp printer, mao ni nakaingon pml driver hpz12. in msconfig i cant change everything tungod ani nga driver, i run regedit then solve na prob sa akong pc, i do disc clean-up and defrag, rarely i dont do reformatting i just wanna solve first whats the cause. thanx kaau mga bro's

sir i will recommend you to re-install and change your operating sytem to XP service pack 2 ayw nang HOME EDITION mostly ron wala na nigamit ana nga application bati daw deli siya mo RUN SMOOTHLY ...

before you re-install sir back-up pi imong files ......

you don't need to reformat/reinstall your OS just because your pc hangs at startup LOL

disable unneccesary startup follow other istoryans reply
update your AV and do a full scan
scandisk
defrag
delete tmp files,all files at Prefetch folder, minidump folder or use CCleaner

right click My Computer
select Properties>Advanced tab>settings at performance>ADJUST BEST PERFORMANCE

after clicking OK, go to Environment Variables tab, if you see Temp or TMP in variable slot, delete them
