i think the image on the beginning of the thread has nothing to do with Maya the new restaurant.
i was there last night, they've been on soft opening since last monday.
its is owned and operated by the same people who run Abaca Boutique Resort in mactan. its called Maya after the Mayan civilization that used to occupy mexico.
their food is mexican. their specialty drinks are tequila based, and i must say they use good tequila.
ambience is great, looks and feels really upscale. the food quality is really good (of course) and the good news is, its not as pricey as the ambience seems to imply. my partner had a mango fresa (drink made of tequila and fresh mango & kalamansi) and it was under Php150. i had a dessert (churros con chocolate) and it was only about Php 135. also had fresh mango juice. unadulterated, no crushed ice, sugar syrup on the side.
prices are subject to 12% EVAT and please tip because their service is good.
definitely going back there!
maya is at crossroads, at the end, where big mao used to be. for those who really have no idea, you have darras & bowler at the corner, pass vudu, and its right after the KTV place. crossroads is in banilad.
so how was the food? main courses...
