OT: guys every now and then biya mo limpyo biya ko sa ako pc.. and bay wala ko gamit gamit ug thermal paste.. and also kung mo gamit ko dili kaya na mo pilit sa imo heatsink ang imo processor? usually mga every 5 months ko

the purpose of the thermal interface material is not to stick your heatsink to the processor but to provide better contact with your heatsink's surface to the IHS (integrated heat spreader) of the processor. if you look at it, it may seem smooth but there are actually microscopic ridges which leaves out contact. as you know, air is a poor conductor and the TIMs job is to fill these gaps in. put too many and you lose metal-to-metal contact. you need to apply a small amount only to fill these gaps in to get the most out of your heatsink.

I see but bro.. naka open man gud ko ug cpu then pag tang tang nako sa heatsing na apil man gud ang processor.. then gahi kaayo tang tangon.. maby sa ka dugay.. d ba.. don't have any idea lang.. but thanks for the tip
