    true, au pair is more like an exchange program. i am not one though, but i have read about this on the net. i have researched it once, because i wanted to try it. yes, there is no agency here in cebu but you can find alot of info online. what actually happens to an au pair is pretty simple. you have to take care of the employers kids and all their basic needs, like play, school works, taking care of them and sharing some of the housework and also teaching them about your own culture at the same time, in exchange for some monetary allowance. in some cases pa gani, they will send you to a local school (in their area), all in their expense. you can try and look it up on the net. wikipedia explains it better.

    my fiance is trying to get an au pair visa for me para dali and maka stay ko sa holland for a year.. and he used his family friend na mo act as my sponsor.. hehehe maynta mo work out oi!

    The Netherlands is one of those countries who does this kind of petition. 2 of my colleagues as 3rd degree RNs started in this manner b4 we all got the job to work in an elderly facility over at Rijswijk.

    diba when you're an au pair you're not allowed to work like any job anha rajud ka sa imong host family?

    Yes, i think so. ky ang punto is u will learn their culture and language man since ikaw man ang moadto ikaw ang mo try ug adjust. they wud expect u to learn gyud. YES, as far as i understood their story ky they stayed ra gyud sa ila host family.
