get a 22" or preferebaly 24" lcd monitor first. Kaya ra man ang 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 sa 9600GT although at low settings.

You'll be able to use the monitor for other things besides games (browsing web, spreadsheets) whereas a high end video card will still leave you with a small screen (not much fun)

Get a 26" (1920x1200), fullHD. I play my games on that, with a XFX 8800GTX Extreme Edition and its amazing!

Ooppss sry! I forgot the actual resolution for 22".
But 24" and above is a lot more expensive than 22" and it doesnt fit to my computer table.
    22" is cool enough though.

parehas jud ta bro, this month of april mao jud na ako gilibugan maau. pero the difference lang mas lower lang kog demand. i was about to choose between the 8800gts(2nd hand from an istoryan) or the b-new 19" lcd monitor. my decision was i bought the vcard first kay very best deal man kaau then after 1 week gi ilisdan dayon nako akong 17" crt kay sayang ang potential sa card nako into a b-new lcd 19" wide.

i was satisfied na(hehehe! by now)

vcard nalang unaha, mas pabor ko sa red team ati 4870

then baligya dayon na u 9600gt para ipuno para palit u 22" lcd monitor

    I second softtouch.

26" inch is really really amazing. Either for FPS or MMO's. You don't need a really big space bro kay LCD man so nipis ra kaayo sya. I swear, a 19" CRT monitor could eat more space than a 26" LCD monitor.

When I upgraded my system sauna, what I did was I sold my old desktop first (17" crt, nforce 3 s939, 6600gt agp 8x) then i bought a dell 24" lcd and used it with my laptop which uses an old radeon x700... really slow compared to ur 9600gt. I was fine with the setup for 6 months playing games like half life 2 at medium and other games at low-medium till i finally bought a new desktop (X2 5000+ BE, 8800GT) that was probably more than a year ago.. and I havent found the need to upgrade since.

Others are saying.,. get the 26" lcd.. I'd say .. if you can afford it .. go for it bro. Buying a large lcd is probably the most worth it component you can buy.

If you think in terms of depreciation, a 22", 24" or 26" will depreciate less compared to current video cards... if you buy the latest and greatest videocards... a few months from now naa nasad nay newer, cheaper, faster cards and more demanding games... and ull want to upgrade ur videocard nasad.

Akong rule for upgrading is to allocate most money to parts nga dugay mu depreciate. These parts include the Monitor, Case, Mouse, Keyboard.

Components like the processor, board, videocard.. just buy something nga midrange like a core 2 duo or a phenom II, 4850.. a few years from now.. ull be upgrading naman sad pero ull still use thesame monitor, case, mouse, keyboard

    Pro!

My plan jud is to sell my 1.5 months used video card and replace it to 4870. I like your idea, so i should follow yours. Bogo man gud ko na accountant wla ko naka think sa depreciation method.
