Well you sound like Matt Farell from Die Hard.
The lasting solution is to fix the political problems in Somalia. Put a stable government to stabilize the country and control the pirates, a task too difficult that the powerful countries are just content on putting their warships and playing cat-and-mouse with the pirates.

gi sampulan btaw tong mga pirata sa Navy SEALS. lol
btaw the entire Merchant Fleet could not be armed tungud lang sa Somalia - isolated case ramn gd ni. not unless all Merchant ship under threat globally, dha na cgro mo ammend ang IMO (International Maritime Organization) to carry firearm ang mga barko. bt then again Merchant Ships are not warships. trabaho mna gd na sa Navy/Coastguard protecting territorial waters.
Something like this is now being implemented in the gulf of Aden for those ships who ask for the security service .. and it is big money business, lesser though compared to the millions asked by pirates .. sea marshals unarmed cost around 80 thousand dollars while armed marshals, around 120 thousand dollars for a four day transit. My curious mind just keep on thinking, is piracy really a wild thinking of the somalian brigands, or is it something manipulated by powers-that-be to create a need in the given area? nangutana lang man ko ..
yahoo just posted news that 23 Filipino crew aboard Sagana Shipping's MV Stolt Strength was just released..Good thing, but hopefully marelease pa to ang uban, naa pay around 100 Pinoys aboard around 7 ships still held hostage by the Pirates
