Default Going Wireless Broadband : Dominion or Meridian Telekoms?

I have tested Dominion at Mango Square, I Checked its connection speed on the connection status bar its 2MB persecond, (wow!), Dominion's connection speed is
really 2MB persecond as to what I saw when I tested it and its only P899.

Meridian as you said it 288kbps @P999, (hmmm).

Wala nay maskusog sa Meridian Internet aside from 288kbps.
I think I'll go for Dominion @ 2mb per second. makasave pako og P100. hehe.

I've also tried dominion through their free demo with my laptop and my friend's office computer which is within the capitol area and it is not so good. Maputol lang pirmi
Never tested on a Laptop, maybe your laptop needs to be configured properly.
When I surf tested it in a PC at Mango Mall, wala may putol2x.

So if this is the case, can we safely say that anywhere in Cebu as long as you have a direct line of site with a smart cellsite you can have a signal from meridian?

Any Meridian agent here? pls comment. Im interested. Location is near Boy Scout Camp Lahug.

Just an FYI ... this is not WiFi. WiFi includes 802.11 ... not technologies that use directional antennas to cover distance that WiFi cannot.

I think its more of a microwave something sa Meridian, dili WiFi coz kailangan man line of site between sa ilang cell site ug sa antenna nga i-install sa inyo..

brown_dog: 2MB sa imo status bar, but have you tried doing a bandwidth test online?

sniper: you must be a certain kilomters radius, Im not just sure how much. basta naa limit I just forgot ug pila. The farther you are, the weaker the signal the slower the connection. So ug naa ka tungod sa cellsite sa smart. kusog kaau ka

On the other note, if what has Dominion promised na it will make the entire cebu a Dominion Hot Spot within 6 months, I would surely go for them. That way I can use my laptop anywhere I go and also use it when Im at home, very convinient.

By the way, what I notice about some of meridian's tech is that they dont even know how to use a keyboard ... Ironic isnt it, to think na they are installing a wireless broadband, they should have a least send someone who knows how to work with computers very well. I guess isa lng did2 ang kbaw mo gamit ug computer but Ill tell you, mas kibaw pa cguro akong secretary mogamit sa PC.

WiFi needs direct line of sight...
    WiMax uses Radio-wave technology.
