"The 79-year-old placed a prayer into the crevices of the Western (or Wailing) Wall, asking for God's forgiveness for "the behaviour of those who in the course of history have caused these children of yours to suffer".

"I assure the Jewish people the Catholic Church ... is deeply saddened by the hatred, acts of persecution and displays of anti-Semitism directed against the Jews by Christians at any time and in any place," the Pope said."

But like I said, it's sort of like you and me apologizing to the Portugese for Lapu-lapu killing Magellan. It's mostly symbolic. The Pope was cool and he has my undying respect for that.

Yes, there are arguments, but as long as they are done in a rational and intelligent manner it can only be a good thing.

Wouldn't life be boring if we all agreed on the same thing?
yahhh but one must do it in such a passion that it promotes only the TRUTH..you can't just publish a book about a sensitive issue and insinuate that it's a fact but in the end will just retract and say that it's a only a work of FICTION...

one may try doing this to the Muslim religion and we'll see if all hell breaks loose or not.

hmm.. another of those catholic bashing threads eh..? Yeah, the Catholic church ain't perfect, hey no single religion out there is perfect and no one claimed their religion is perfect, is there..?

Catholic history has the bloodiest moments u say? I don't want to say this but those KKK claiming that God is White aren't Catholics.. Yes, there's a website out there and I had regretted viewing it because it's full of uncalled for racist views, (and a friend invited me to view it and he was one damn racist I regret having him as a friend and he's not Catholic BTW).

What about Islam, there hasn't been a thread about Islam here which also has a bloody history, I've researched enough bout Islam and the Koran and it's quite bloody u know..

First of all, stop calling me something I'm not. Whatever the f*** a Pagan is, I'm not one.

I wasn't mocking Christ, I was mocking people who were taking things too seriously.

And yes, while I disagree with Catholicism, I admire what Pope John Paul II did. What can't I? What he did, which was essentially owning up to the faults of the institution he represents stands as a leap forward towards better peace and understanding among ALL RELIGIONS, and that is an admirable gesture regardless of what my beliefs are.

not quite, a lot of books are already in circulation even before Dan Brown. Mas ning sikat lang ang Dan brown nga book because of the movie and for the fact that it's a novel.
