Yeah you're all right. And our government didnt do anything about it. Some of the policemen are also one of the trouble makers. This country is not a better place to live in.

What modus operandi do you guys know of that you can share with the rest of us?

I have one:

If you find a guy who's sitting beside you in a jeep, asleep, with a large bag on his lap and covering one hand while his other hand is on the handle bar above and he leans towards you... Be aware.

His MO will be to slightly lean to you pretending to be deep in sleep while is other hand under his bag will slowly creep towards your pocket or your bag. These types of crooks usually do not want attention from the other passengers and will move away once he notices that you are aware of his motives.

Give him a quick and precise elbow to the ribs. It's a warning to him of more violence to come should he pursue his ambitions. If he doesn't back off prepare to give him hell.

Usually, he will slide off away from you ... and proceed to grope his next victim on his other side. I feel sorry for that person if wa siya kabantay. One thing to be aware, though, is that they never work alone so be wary of the other person who seems to have shifty eyes. Kasagaran the accomplice will sit on the opposite side, pero not necessarily atbang jud.


PERO .... if bladed weapons or firearms are involved na, better give him/them what he/they want. No sense dying over a few hundred bills or your shiny brand new N95 or iPhone.

I can also think of other MO's like ipit² when you're trying to get on the jeep and the "tagak sensilyo" diversionary trick but I'll leave that to other posters to elaborate.
