if it says the reason has something to do with an invalid i.p address, try changing the channel of your router from default 6 to something else, the same thing happened to me and i tried everything but didnt get it to work, finally i saw in another forum that this may help so i did it and it worked, may not work for you though, but u can give it a try.. i think what hapenned to me was that there was some sort of interference with the other routers in the vicinity, there are about 4 other wireless networks in my neighborhood and some of them are using the same provider and router as me..hope this helps.good luck.

then try to ping the gateway
if you can ping it and you have that message, call your ISP, they must have applied an deny access list for your host from going outside the public internet..
if you have an autoip ip address acquired, something like 169.254.X.X, then check your physical connection from your pc down to CPE termination
i think you have a problem with your network connection, make sure that the LAN cable is working well, try using a proven cable.
problem with DHCP server, that is IF you have one.
got something to do with DHCP server, even if you renew ur ip if DHCP server isnt enabled then you still have the ip 169.254.X.X
ask the ip of ur network, if this is local then probably they are using the default 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x (which mostly used by wireless routers & access points devices)
im experiencing limited or no connectivity also sa akong pc didto balay. kaso lang, naa man koy internet connection. feeling gani nako murag mas paspas pa hinuon kay sa katong walay mogawas na prompt. im suspecting the driver of the lan card. pero wala na nako giupdate kay gikapoy na ko ngita. hehehe
