Ive read b4 on the net about complete formatting and some tools that other countries have can recover data from a 100 times formatted/repartition/zero-data'ed HD. dunno how true that is pero thats what the article said. if you plan to dispose a harddrive with a very very top secret data throw it inside an incenerator to make sure. but for your avarage joe a simple reformat with a repartion will zero his chances of stealing your data

professional forensics software can still see ur data if u only reformatted/repartitioned/zero-filled your hard drive.

u should use a Security Erase software that meets the DOD specifications, that if you don't want any forensics expert to see any of your data.

another secure way of erasing data is by Degaussing.

If you have child porn in your HD better use the most sophisticated format or erase tools.

Just simply format your HD using a startup CD. Preferrable Fdisk then full format not the quick.

Boot up your Windows XP CD, remove your existing partition and continue with Windows installation. If you can't do it, (just like the other thread) go to your suki Computer Shop and let them do it for you.

sa ngalan palang daan Degaussing... which means mogamit jud ni ug magnets..... alternating magnetic fields... erase jud tanan data in any magnetic media with proper procedure and exposure.

i think he is not talking about the debug of programs but a the debug routine used to erase all partition information on the HDD and also used when fdisk can't delete the partition information
