Im planning to play bioshock and gears of war and devil may cry 4. the videocard can handle all these new games pretty well. and meets the minimum requirements in terms of processing speed. so the video card is quite important here.

as for buying a new computer, it takes time to sell a computer and really i dont see the point in upgrading every year, this computer maybe 2 years old but it still works like a charm, upgrading it will make it run for another two years, and if the processor gets slow then il upgrade that too, F.Y.I my mobo has LGA 775 and some dual cores can fit in it, why spend another 3-5k on a motherboard and case?

also people are highly overrating the processor, its really windows and the OS that allocates memory and what not for applications, if you use vista, superfetch is a great allocation program that manages memory well and can open photoshop in 4-6 seconds flat! i bet if XP had such allocation it could do better.
youre mobo might be an lga 775 but it doesnt mean it supports a pdc or c2d. your motherboard is capable only to pentium 4 lga 775 or lower processors. it doesnt even support a pentium d processor. if your contented with minimum requirements where lags are expected, then its up to you. and also, dont forget the price difference of a pc400 and a pc667. buying a 2gb pc400 would cost you almost 4k against a 2gig pc667 which is just less than 2k

    about buying a 2gb pc400, ive found a pair for 2100Php

have you tried playing on a pentium 4 processor? i really dont think because of my P4 2.8ghz my games will lag, its more likely due to ram and a video card than the processor. i bet you alot of Internet Cafes right now still run on pentium for with an X1550 ATI video card or Nvidia 7000series. and gaming doesnt seem to be a problem for them

bro ive seen a pentium 4 3.0ghz with a 512MB ATI X1550 and 1GB of ram play CoD4 online smooth as silk, im guessing 40-50fps at an internet cafe. my processor 200mHz less with 4x the ram and a more recent video card can probably game at a better resolution (i saw in the cafe and played it was 800x600 with medium detail settings)

as for the online the lag and high ping will come from my connection or the server

    UR right bro.

It all up to you. If you would listen the truth most probably 5-6 PC components are usually important or should all replaced when upgrade.
mobo, processor, memory and videocard but u can use the onboard if u want.

SO if you would change your 3 PC components and would worth 7-8 k well I would suggest to replace it ALL and buy new MOBO, CPU, VCARD, MEMORY and SELL ur old mobo and processor as it cant support the latest games etc..ma obsolete rana lage. Then di jud na ka compete sa new PC karon.

    Goodluck.

my tip is start with the PSU, buy something that you think will support your computer in the next future upgrades.

this computer is for typical office/internet use. nothing more. upgrading is just a waste of time and money.

selling my old mobo and processor or computer wont make me much money, since you place it soo low you think id be able to sell it at a decent price? id rather upgrade now and save up for next year,
even budget gaming desktop can cost up 20k

the 300W PSU works well now, if it doesnt then il upgrade to 400W.
