    While it is good for the Philippines to produce oil, the only time I will feel happy is when we see it benefit the Filipinos, the people. Besides I read initial daily output will only be around 20-29K barrels and then could go up to 40k barrels. Instead of selling this offshore my hope is using it here and lowering fuel and other costs.

    I read the full report sa Phil Business news recenty..thoug naa gyud oil..pero dili pa sila sure kung ang oil deposit pang commercial value ba..Ang oil contractor nga nag drill nag rent ug rig nga gikan sa China unya ang gobyerno nagbayad..500,000 daily ang rent.

    ^^^yup. in the Malampaya deposits in Palawan, most of them are natural gas and the oil they extracted are just residual...the oil residues, they are not feasible to refine here much more we don't have the technology to refine it. that's why it is being sold to Korean companies instead.

    but this breaking news i find very promising...

    Ermita said the President described the oil from the Galoc field as “light, medium crude oil, with a potential high yield of light ends, such as gasoline. The discovery, to be called Palawan light”

    Our Bataan refinery can do this...
