We cannot Generalize a certain topic such as Minyo-minyo, 10 years is a bit long time. However, you have the responsibility but that doesn't mean that you are deprived of your happiness. And to crucially think and decide about everything because marriage is more critical than choosing a religion "dili na pareha sa kan-on na ig mapaso ka ig-hungit nimo kai imo lang iluwa dayon." marriage is not like that. Going back to your responsibilities, everything lies on you and your partners decision if he/she fully understands the situation. There is no wrong or right choices here, but eitherway you choose has their corresponding consequence. More power.
