I suggest if you start video editing you should go at least to a faster pc. Not just the minimum. So you will appreciate your work more and you will have fun doing trial and errors until you learn. I suggest go with core2duo na with 2Gig RAM. Videocard with at least nvidia geforce7series pwede nah. Bsta i know you are newbie ana pero take my advice. Di ka magmahay.

    get core2duo with P35 chipset mobo + at least 2 gigs DDR2 800 ram + at least cheap 8 or 9 series DDR3 gforce card (i.e 8600gt ddr3 for 3k+)

    For Photos ....

    1 Microsoft's Picture Manager
    2 Google's Picasa
    3 Adobe's Photoshop

For Photos you must learn to use PICASA (free download from google), but MICROSOFT PICTURE MANAGER for me is the fastest. Especially the color correction ... just select the supposedly white area of the picture and MS Picture Manager automatically adjusts the rest of the photo. Not perfect everytime, but really really saves a lot of time and effort in the HIGHLY complicated Adobe Photoshop.

In the end Photoshop ftw. Nothing beats it. Just takes time (years) to get used to everything ... You can learn a lot in a day and then two years later learn more about the same feature you thought you understood already ...
