faulty or shady power supply can be cause of hdd problems...buy better power supply...
    add UPS for better protection...

i busted 3 harddrives ang 2 videocards and it was all because of a generic PSU since i was pulling too much power from it. now that i have a branded PSU, no more problems encountered in my rig.

i agree. If you got tons of stuff better buy/invest with highend psu's.

I got 6hdds (all sataII) and got a corsair620w psu. (good thing its modular) i just plug/unplug the modular powercable when i don't need to use the hdd (it does lengthen the lifespan of your drives).

    Default Read my opinion.

    Bro,
Ang Hard disk drive kay dili mana dali ma daut basta maayo lang pagka gamit ug walay
physical damage such as natagak, kay mao na mo cause of bad sectors and leaking.
pero if ma virusan lang dali rana ma ayo. Ug bahin sa short circuit of course maka guba jud na
better use UPS pero mo last imo HDD.

    For EX.
Before naa koy hdd sa karaan nako na PC then its since 2002 pani why man hantud karon ok pa cya
no bad sectors no damage still good as new...why? coz everytime I turned off the PC I will do a proper
shutdown process and If you will do that of course dili na dali ma guba.

Pero mo vary sad na ang brand name like SEAGATE, MAXTOR is acquired now by seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi, Samsung etc... Pero bro so far sa ako ka daghan na fixed na PC na Assemble I only believe nga Western Digital ang pinaka maayo na brand coz its fast cool and quiet wala ko nag market
diri pero maski sa international no.1 ang western digital. Samsung is good also than seagate. Maxtor is better a long time ago.

Basta proper shutdown, better gani palitan nimog cooler sa HDD, then trust me it doesnt matter how
you shutdown and on all you have to do is proper way of using of turning off/on. I havent heard
nga maka guba ang mag on/off sa PC permi. Pero tinood man gani its your decision and its up to you.

Cge...thats all. clean your PC as well to extend life span. proper cleaning and never use a electric vacuum cleaner better use a brush for cleaning.

    Godbless.
