i'll give you a hypothetical scenario...

if a media outfit is already breaking the law by massive propaganda against a government, will we just allow it in the name of press freedom?

as long as they can justify it and give the arrested people a chance to prove their innocence in court then we should not be too paranoid and worry about a thing. as long as this people are still breathing and are given the chance to talk, then i believe that is okay. the problem with media sad gud is that some of them can be bought and take sides even if the consequences are far greater than their own advantage.

question is... did they actually filed a lawsuit against the tabloid. Or are they are just scaring the establishments so that they will not post news not in favor of GMA. If the news states incorrect information then of course they can be charge. No need to station police inside the establishment.

pagpalit sa media are on both sides... the media that was critical to Marcos was very instrumental in bringing Marcos down.

i believe they should but in a state of emergency i honestly do not know the legalities of this but i'm sure if they do something below the belt even in a state of emeregency then i believe the majority of the citizenry will put up another VALID and GENUINE revolt.

during the time of marcos, it was a genuine concern. so you cannot compare it. let's just say GMA has her indiscretions i believe she is nowhere like marcos not even erap.

when you have signs showing intimidation of the press... you should be wary of it. ma compare nimo ang binuhatan ni Marcos og ni GMA... daghan similarities. pero wala siya ni duol ni ERAP... kana agreeable ko ana, kay si ERAP dili to maro. Ang kuyaw nga taw kanang naa sa gahom onya maro.

Paggamit sa gahom of any means to be president... kay para nako klaro na kaau nga similarity with Marcos.

bai, if you say that GMA will be like marcos. ako'y mo una didto sa fuente. but sa akong tan-aw wa pa sad ma-abot ana.

even if GMA will declare martial law and our economy is okay, will still respect REAL press freedom and will not violate human rights, okay ra kaayo nako.

sometimes the opposition fails to think that the president has the power to do this anytime which i think they also fear.

believe me, if life will relatively be easier in GMA's term, even if she will declare martial law there won't be any REAL people power. so the opposition or these troublemakers should not give her a reason to do so.

for me even if declaring the country under a state of emergency was an unpopular decision, it was a wise move and entailed a lot of political will and personal conviction. and that's what true leaders should be composed of.

just like a life of a person, regardless of what a leader did before or during her term it is always all the good that he/she has done AFTER that will be remembered and cherished and that is A FACT.

and how do you know if she is doing that... when all that she attacks are people that are against her... which for you are not right?

for example si Randy David... he was just there showing his sentiments, but he was arrested... they tried to file a case of Inciting to sedition against him.

why? did GMA attack everybody against her? i don't think so. murag gipagawas na gyud nila nga halang na kaayo ug bituka si GMA unya ang mga namasangil ra ba mao ra ba'y mas halang ug mga naa na'y bad record.

regarding randy david, if he is truly innocent and did not incite sedition then he should not worry about a thing but if there are strong evidences against him then he should be arrested and will be tried in the proper court, covered by media then that is his fate and course of justice.

maayo ug pareho sa panahon ni erap ug marcos nga kalit lang nangawagtang ang mga tao unya di man gani ma covered sa media. grabe kaayo to ang salvage ug pinalitay sa media panahon ni erap. pero wala man lagi mga ni reklamo?
