@MARIOX
as long as the word Hacking is there, the definitions are:
1. Unauthorized use, or attempts to circumvent or bypass the security mechanisms of an information system or network.
2. Hacking means illegally accessing other people's computer systems for destroying, disrupting or carrying out illegal activities on the network or computer systems.
3. Hacking means illegally accessing other people's computer systems for destroying, disrupting or carrying out illegal activities on the network or computer systems.
You hack so that you can install something, which is at the first place gibawal sa imong account.... Try to think of that.
Hackers don't say they hack, Ever!!
All of the modern meanings seem to be rooted in its widespread use as slang throughout the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), starting in the 1960s. There, the original meaning of "hack" was a quick, elaborate and/or bodged solution students devised for technical obstacle; it was used with hacker, meaning one who discovers and implements a hack. The word itself comes from the German word meaning "someone who makes furniture with an axe",[1] implying a lack of finesse in a "hack"; it is believed by many in the hacking community that the reason for this is because programs too large to run on the limited computer resources of the time had portions "chopped" or "hacked" out in order to be reduced to a more reasonable size.

History in Computer Science
A "hack" now means a clever, quick fix to a computer program problem, as in "That hack you made last night to the editor is working well". A hacker entered the lexicon meaning one who hacks, using this definition. On the surface, the implication (which might be a modest mocking and play on the literary definition) was a casual attempt to fix the problem, but the deeper meaning showed something more clever.
It was used especially among US university computing center staff, such as those at Stanford in the period beginning approximately in the mid-1960s. The context determined whether the complimentary or derogatory meanings were implied. Phrases such as "ugly hack" or "quick hack" generally referred to the latter meaning; phrases such as "cool hack" or "neat hack", to the former.
In modern computer programming, a "hack" can refer to a solution or method which functions correctly but which is "ugly" in its concept, which works outside the accepted structures and norms of the environment, or which is not easily extendable or maintainable.
In a similar vein, a "hack" may refer to works outside of computer programming. For example, a math hack means a clever solution to a mathematical problem. The GNU General Public License has been described as[who?] a copyright hack because it cleverly uses the copyright laws for a purpose the lawmakers did not foresee. All of these uses now also seem to be spreading beyond MIT as well.
The term has since acquired an additional and now more common meaning, since approximately the 1980s; this more modern definition was initially associated with crackers. This growing use of the term "hack" is to refer to a program that (sometimes illegally) modifies another program, often a computer game, giving the user access to features otherwise inaccessible to them. As an example of this use, for Palm OS users (until the 4th iteration of this operating system), a "hack" refers to an extension of the operating system which provides additional functionality. The general media also uses this term to describe the act of illegally breaking into a computer, but this meaning is disputed.

i prefer to use the classic definition---the root!
IMHO i really like cracking(note on the term) during my younger times... whenever i see the opportunity to get something for free or to vandalize an i-cafe, i do it... it made me feel powerful in some sense...
but nowadays, its no fun for me... since malouy nako madaot ila panginabuhi and also i can afford to pay...hehehe
we should give proper credit to the ones who deserve it...
what will happen to the phils if there's no cellphone hack--->>> you have to buy a new phone if your's is not open-line.
what about console gaming / modding(illegal in UK)--->>> you have to pay 3k php or more to get the game that you want.
some of them are illegal in some countries, and some has not yet implemented the idea...
hacking is like having the "power". --->>> can destroy and can build --->>> depende sa imong gamit
i dunno kun unsa reasons ni madmike, could it be iya i test iyang system for potential crackers, or iya tumban ang rights sa admin.... any clues![]()
ako pasabot linux is bunga lang na sa passion sa mga hackers unsa man diay tawag nato ana nila stallman--linus---ugbnpa nga nitampo para matibook ang linux og unsa man ang nahimo nila sa atong technology karon.Originally Posted by AMD_infinium05

yes it makes my life easier kay sa akoa less maintenance ang linux----and it's free no one will dare raid my inet shop(actually wala na lang ko nigamit og XP kay no budget nya sayang pod kung patay ang machine patay pod kauban ang orig nga installer, sayang kwarta...hehehhe)
tumpak...
alright, i understand what you guys want to impose.
@madmike: i wudn't know lang if you'll be the administrator, and someone you know, shud hack your admin account just to gain full access and play around your computer ^_^....
that is without your permission.
basin nagpraktis or basin project sa skwelahan?
@AMD
hahaha!!!
ayaw lang ka-offend sa akoa bro madmike ha kay wala pa ko kabalo sa purpose nimo mao usahay misleading ang mga tubag namo ilabi na kung maghisgot og hacking---cracking---piracy ang purpose...pero once makabalo pod ko para kaayohan ang purpose aw np we're here to help sa makaya lang
bro gi-unsa nimo pag-install ug games sa imong mga unit? Gamit ka Cedega? Crossover? Mo-work ang network games? I'm planning to have a Linux based cafe man gud, to educate people of "the alternative", promote OpenSource and syempre, lower the costOriginally Posted by turbomark
