    @internasyonalista...
    mabaw ra kaayo imong concept of usa ka aktibista. Activists dont just rally... pero sakto ka, nagkagamay bitaw ang mga mag rally...

    @Tin_Tin
    optimist... or you can say naa anad na... hehe

    @rishee
    POINT 1. ka sad ani oi... "cguro nagka bryt na ang mga kids karon"... did it ever occur to you nga ang mga inilang actibista sa atong country puro mga top graduates from our country's top universities? unsa may bryt nga bata? kanang murag buta-bungol and dili mo care kung naay dili maayo nga mahitabo around niya? or kanang maka identify kung naay problema?

    POINT 2. "ang mga tao sauna mu apil ani na protests thought that they could change the world."
    dakong sayop! ni apil sila ug protesta, kay naa silay nakit-an nga dili mao sa government.. imagine, kung all of a sudden gipapatay imong amigo sa military nya wala siyay sala, di kaha ka moprotesta?? unsa na kahag kapamilya na ang involved?

    POINT 3. "i think they know better that as a professional, they will be able to provide more for their country rather in than trying their best to reform it". mind you, kung dili ta aware sa happenings sa atong country, mo graduate ta, mo trabaho as if wala lay dili mao nga nahitabo... nya padayong nga gikurakot atong kwarta. kalu-oy... sure ko, kung ingon ani gani, bryt gyud kaayo ta....

    POINT 4. "the best lesson the students learn is their history lessons"... refer to the first three POINTs, i believe you also need to study history to come up with better conclusions... and opinions...

    just wanted to clarify things.. yes, i did learn alot from my history lessons... i listened attentively to the lectures of my profs thats why i was able to understand the workings of activists...

    sad lang kaayo ba, nga the very people nga makit-an sa street protests, students nga makit-an nato nga nag risk sa ilang lives para maka pukaw sa minds sa mga "too tired to care", i judge lang sa uban as inferior or samok, without even trying to look deeper, and look at the cause nganong nag ingon ana sila....

    nag ka bryt ba ang mga kids karon? i doubt it...

    so really now.. what happened to the country after all the protests?

    When you said na "activista kay mga top graduates" mao na ang nakasayup..

    abi kay na ingnan man ug bryt, they feel the right to take the law into their own hands..

    abi nako educated people settle things in a civilized manner. mao nay maka lagot anang mga mag hilas2x abi top graduate whatever sila.. magpaka aron ingon na kamao..

    nya do you really think sila jud ang mka sulbad sa nasud nato? Kung mao na, dugay na unta tani asenso... kadaghan na intawn sa mga protest na successful.. the pattern usually is.. protest... dayun apil tanan tao.. dayun daug ang nag protesta.. dayun okay gamay... gamayng sayup napud.. protest napud.. the cycle goes on and on...

    if there is one thing I learned in school it is that your grades doesn't make you the man you ought to be...mao na dili na sila angay mag hilas2x ug mag protesta kung abi magna sila or unsa ba...

    about "imong amigo gipatay sa military" reason pud btaw jud na.. but don't u think na investigating things further would help? naa man ginatawag na DUE PROCESS ryt? miski dugay na xa.. if fervent ka, naa man jud na kahumanan. as they say.. al things come to an end.. including what they call has the "Activista Fever" it died down.. It died a natural death..

    about sa "way nahibaw-an sa atong nasud nahuman nalang tag skwela" --not really. There are times that we should be concerned citizens and voice out our suggestions but not to the point na mag traffic2x ta sa fuente kay maka abala lang ta sa uban tao na naay important na buhaton.. What's wrong with making a commentary then ipadala sa newspaper? Willing mana sila mu accept bah.. that way you will be able to explain your side further and with more details, rather than a cartolina poster saying "GLORIA RESIGN".

    If naay kay nakit-an na dili mao sa government, voice it out through subtle ways...where people can understand and have more intelligent conversations, rather than "HONK YOUR HORN FOR GLORIA'S RESIGNATION" along the streets...

    about sa "bryt kaayu ta kay sugot ra ta gikurakot atong kwarta" maypag mu lansad ka.. at least formal way jud bah... lansad pa lang ka.. ug daghan man jud kaha kag supporters mu lansad ka.. make yourself a platform.. himo kag own recommendations nimo aron mahibal-an sa mga tao na ikaw dli ka kurakot... mas maayo ng ingon ana kay legit..

    miski unsaon nimo ug rally dha, miski sakto jud ka.. dili man me mka botar nimo baya.. miski ako uyon man ko nimo na gi-kurakot atong kwarta ba..

    also about sa "students risk their lives" sometimes I feel na maayu bitaw na students atong ipa lead kay tru intentions jud ilaha ba.. pero as students pa, they're not ready to make any strong political moves yet kay fragile pa kaayu ni sila.. maka ihi pa gali siguro sa kakulba.. or mu dagan ghapon sa mama. It's good to make students aware about our political situation. I agree to that. As a student, current events was my favorite subject.
    But we had a more civilized and fruitful way of discussing and learning thses things.

    My classmates wrote to politicians and to newspapers.. They did things to help fellow students aware of the ill effects of corruption. A smell step but a big leap sooner or later. If students find out how wrong corruption is and if they are well aware of the effects of the people especially on the poor.. mataw-han pud ang mga tao oi... mataw-han sila to do the right thing. it is to be a good and honest, concerned citizen. Not to rally2x whatever, whenever.

    It is not that people are "too tired to care".. dili jud.. one can never be too tired to care about one's property.. about one's self.. what is wrong is that people are not aware how to make a stand properly and what to do..

    I'm sure you are aware of the growing number of "activista violence"

    Why must we go through bloodshed just to prove a point, eh?

    mao na.. thinking about EDSA 1, EDSA 2, OAKWOOD MUTINY, and all the others I can't remember... mu usab pa ta? ka kapuy ra ah! mag tinarong nalang ta oi!

    If I were u, I'd listen to John Gokongwei's advice. Ü pangitaa unsa iya advice kay suko na akng supe cge kono kog surf.. heheÜ

    hala ka.. sab-an ka ron .

    Im no student activists but I know many who have profound reasons why they do the things they do. and obviously, you are not too aware about their reason. It's quite clear in your words.

    basically what you're trying to say is samok ning mga aktibista.. to a point, yes.. there are those nga wala gani kasabot nganong magrally sila. you're saying that instead of making noise, doing protests, they do little things like writing comments in news papers, writing letters to politicians. do you really think things like this can change the country? was the original EDSA revolution done by writing in news papers and letters to marcos? try to see, if current events gyud ang imong favorite topic, nga people have been writing comments in news papers... grabe na kaayo.. current events would say nga beyond na sa usual ang mga writeups against corruption and injustice. but still... naay nahitabo?

    possible nga favorite gyud nimo ang current events... but if you lack the sense urgency of digging deeper upon hearing the news, you cant fully understand the situation.

    Kung ako lang, nope, i wont run for office in the government. why? a frustrate lang ko.. my mother was a politician. a legislator for that matter. frustrating kaayo kay aware ka ba nga ang mga laws gi pass sa imong kauban bati... pero your in the minority... you can battle it out.. but in the end, ma outvote ra gihapon ka sa mga itoy sa mga tao nga mas taas ug rank... that's why i say useless kung mo try ka ug implement ug reforms by running for office... as if makadaug pa ang usa ka tarung nga tao in the face of massive vote buying by incumbent corrupt officials?

    "students are not ready to make strong political moves".. when is the right time? kanang nagtrabaho na? kanang nag minyo na.... let me ask you? have you been in a rally? or in a crowd of student activists? or kahibaw ka unsay gi barugan sa kadaghanan sa mga student activists? they want change.. kay dili sila gusto nga maminyo, magkaanak and ma experience sa ilang mga anak and apo ang kind of oppression nga ilang gi atubang. :mrgreen:

    "one can never be to tired to care about one's property" sakto... mao ni rason nganon nag kagamay na ang mga student activists. care too much for one's self nga dili na sila makakita nga ilang palibot nag lisud na. ka sad ani oi.

    rally's are legitimate. recognized na siya sa bisan unsa nga political body and government ( though im not sure sa communism). ang naka increase sa violence kay ang reaction sa mga gi ralli-han... mukhang guilty. hehe.
    if at one time namalit ka ug nindot nga cellphone or any gadget nga gusto kaayo nimo. then pag gamit nimo, naa cyay defect. surely mangayo kag warranty diba? what if di ka tagdon sa store... surely imong ikiha...

    why must we go through bloodshed just to prove a point? because more people have lost more than just blood because of corruption and injustice sa atong country. and those who are willing to shed blood are aware and would not want more blood to be shed.

    "EDSA 1, EDSA 2, oak wood... mo usab pa ta?" wow.. ni apil diay ka ato? hehe...
    probably ikaw dili... but alot who have lost everything but their lives would.

    has John Gokongwei been in their shoes? if he has, then his advice is worth listening to.

    para sa akoa ang importante karon para sa mga estudyante mao ang magpakabana sa dagan sa atong palibot. pero kabahin sa pagpakabana mao ang pagtuki kon unsa ba ang perspective sa struggles. i think we should struggle for social change kay grabe na gyud ang kalisod karon. dili lang kaayo mabatian sa mga estudyante nga full-time student gyud. pero sigurado ang ilang mga ginikanan nabuktot na sa pagpangitag paagi nga maka-eskwela ilang mga anak. ang mga working students mas nabatian nila ang kalisod kay nagtrabaho naman sila.

    what im trying to say is we should analyze asa man padulong ang pakigbisog o pag-apil sa mga rally nga gipangulohan sa mga Leftists? ang mga sakripisyo sa mga aktibista layo ra kaayo sa sakripisyo sa mga trabahante diin kadaghanan kanila naglabad na ang ulo unsaon pagbadyet ang gamay nila sweldo.

    for me, to be an acticvist means to have a clear understanding of what is the root cause of poverty and colud capitalism solve this? unsa bay mahatag nga maayong kaugmaon sa present system nato karon? may malaoman pa ba ta sa conress? sa president?

    daghang questions nga sa akong tan-aw dili nato masabtan sa pag-apil sa rally sa mga Leftists o sa propaganda sa govt kondili sa mga discussion circles sa mga students mismo.
