@istoryanimo,, Thanks bro.
A combination of effective Group Policy settings, firewall rules, and HOSTS file entries will deter any possible filesharer in your cafe.

thanks for your info bro. but we all know that P2P is sharing. yet somehow there are limitations to it especially on the business side. you just can't allow abuses. you can't have em' all. what i'm trying to ask is to maximize that "limitation." you got to share bandwidth too right?!Originally Posted by sparks31
i agree with victor! but those were just secondary things to prevent file sharing
what i can suggest is you should prevent users / clients from installing any applications on the box.
Some iNet cafe's did that already.
what do you think??
agreeing with superpaul... if you only have a manageable number of workstations, might as well do what superpaul said. but if you have hundreds in a site (which i guess you won't have that much, just for the sake of discussion) and you have a firewall, you can just block the file type of torrent they are downloading. i.e. *.torrent.Originally Posted by superpaul
Tried doing this on a site with at least a hundred workstations on a UNIX based firewall, it's doing really fine.. Just a little work on a big network.

i you still want P2P in ur iCafe and Gaming at the same time, you should invest on a router that has QoS or Bandwidth Management. Have each PC with static IPs, or get the ports and filter it from there.

unfortunately some (many) peer to peer clients jump from one port to another... hence blocking ports is practically useless![]()
makalagot jud.. wais jud.
