@pidz -- wa na lang nako gibalik .. ako na lang gigamit kay wa ko sure kung abtan ug 3 months na sad sa ilang kamot. well, compared to the rest of digital camera manufacturers, no one still beat canon in terms of service. there's just some instances that it will cost more to fix it.

liked on my case and maybe pidz friend case, the sensor box will be replaced with brand new ones, it will work, no question about that. but to make sure that sensor, and the digic processor understand each other .. it needs some calibration and maybe tweak on the firmware side -- it's fine if your spitting out hundreds of thousands of copies in batch mode. for individual basis, it's costly and i believe it's beyond canon manila's capability to deal with such problems.

in some part of the world, they'll just replace it with new one and charge users with a bit high service charge.

moral of the story: if you're photo hobbyist that clicks around 2k per month .. get 20D or their pro version. canon prioritize services more on this model and it hardly breaks.

sure ka sir? "no one can beat canon in terms of service"? if this is theyre best, unsa nalng kaha ang "sakto2" lang na service.. ngeks!! so you mean other brands are far worst than canon's service?? patay! this is a no win situation for consumers. biskan asa ka dagan, mag antos geahpon ta

Let's all switch to Nikon. I heard their service is better but aside from that you won't actually need it much. Their cameras seem to be more robust. Though they don't have an office here but I know of a guy who can take care of that for you.

pidz: suwayi lang ug kuha piktyur using M mode. no problem sa manual mode kay kung overexpose ra taasan raman ni iyang time or paubsan nimo ang aperture.

sa akong case, ok ra gamit ko ug p,av,tv pero moadjust ka ug exposure compensation .. and besides am not expert and probably it's just my ignorance on the camera features and lack of proper knowledge (photography in general) that i assumed something.

Ga sige nami ug panawag, way mga klaro ila rason ug alibi... in short mga bakakon.
    Alibis FFq:

Hope Canon International will here this para matagaan tag maayong serbisyo. or a win-win solution.

Balik sa Mirror Flap/Shutter: Wla ko kabasa ani before sa advertisement nila sa 300D karon specific na cila sa 5D...
"With a top shutter speed of 1/8000 sec. and with a remarkable 100,000-cycle shutter life, it truly is a camera built to professional standards."
Unsa diay ang shutter life sa 300D?

i sympathize with you guys...i dread the day when my 20D needs to go to the service center, bec. even before i bought it, i already knew that there could be problems with service. if you read other (foreign) forums on canon cameras, there are numerous quality control/repair issues with canon DSLRs.

i also think this illustrates the problem that comes with advances in technology. i still have a 24 year old canon A1 film SLR and not once did it go in for service. and that's because it doesn't have a lot of high-tech computer technology that's inside our DSLRs, which means only canon can repair any problem with its DSLRs. in contrast, my old A1's problem is a stuck-up mirror (after years of non-use), but as a friend of mine said, that could probably be repaired by any reputable camera repair shop. another example is today's automobiles - with all the high-tech computers in a car, gone are the days when you can just bring it to any shop for repair.

from what i gather, only canon Manila can actually make repairs and i guess that due to the large number of canon owners, they're swamped with work. perhaps canon philippines should seriously rethink its costumer service and train more technicians and assign them to big cities throughout the country.

guyz, if naa mo concerns sa canon you may course it thru me...ill gladly help any istorya member
so far i've been very happy with canon's service and support.
sometimes meron mishap (all repairs are still in manila not here in cebu but at least naa sila presence here. that better than having none).
anyhow they always fix any of my concerns naman as quickly as possible.
in most cases inside a week or two. a month is as long as i normally have to wait.
of course meron exeptions but all in all its understandable and fair naman sila.

regarding that 8months thing id demand they give an entire new unit if it was me...
(yes ive gotten brand new sets from problematic items from them in the past 5 years just proving thier integrity to the warranty and support.)
however regarding pidz friend, i asked canon bout this and they say its how the P setting of that camera works daw. even comparing it with other 300D's daw.(never saw the unit so i can't confirm or discount this fact) pa anhia siya sa shop let me take a look at the camera pidz. ako magisog didto sa canon kung tinuog gyud guba ang exposure...

and honestly i've tested Agoroy's unit and to me its exposure is dead on. no over exposure what so ever.
IT WAS PERFECT! sometimes its user fault man sad gud. lets not judge the company too quickly
