In the euphoria after such victories over his Mexican foes, the buzz was all for hailing Manny as a modern-day national hero.
So manny will be the like of Dr.Jose Rizal? How about our Paeng Nepomuceno of bowling?3rd time world champion and made the Philippines known all over the world,Efren Bata Reyes and Dyango Bustamante are they the likes of Bonifacio and mabini? If that would be our mentality, maybe its just so much of a result of ozone layer.lol nainitan na gyud pag ayo ang ulo.

whether we like it or not, murag ing ana na gyud pre...Paeng, Efren, and Dyango will just remain as our pinoy sports champions...but the likes of Manny and our love for this sport, due to his branded now as "killer of Mexicans", i won't be surprised kng in case mapildi cya sa rematch, naa gyuy daghan TV mabu-ak...nyahaha

    here's a portion of Orlando Carvajal's article in Sun.Star:

"Comes now the opposition promoting Jun Lozada as a "hero". This is even worse. If making Manny a hero is to clutch at straws, making Lozada one is to “kapit sa patalim,” as the saying goes in Pilipino. For what is so heroic about a confessed corrupt businessman-bureaucrat’s desperate attempt to save his skin from his partners in crime by telling on them?...

Jun Lozada could at best turn into state witness to avoid prosecution. To promote him as a hero is a depravity that insults common decency. Jun Lozada is simply working for the vested interests of the opposition to save his neck."

and regarding JLo? even the Black & White Movement hails JLo as a "HERO"...nyahaha

    kumbinsing!!!
Urabn legends ra man cguro na siya, pero IIRC what my parents told me (my parents lived in Davao and CDO for about 12 years) the crowd reacted the way they did because apparently the movie ended with the hero, FPJ in this case, was apparently killed by the bad guys. They got angry bvecause FPJ is the hero and should never die.

ALSO.... doing a search through Google using FPJ + Muslim lead me to this site: http://video48.blogspot.com/2008/01/asedillo-1971.html, where one of the posters said.......

Is this the movie where FPJ died and the muslims who were watching it in Mindanao rioted because they felt they were cheated by the moviehouse by featuring a movie where their idol died?

BTW, did that really happen? The Muslims who stoned the movie screen and tried to get their money back from the ticketbooth because they were angry.

==>> There is also another story to this one, dont' know if its an uraban legend or a story just for laughs.. pero there was this one other muslim community in Mindanao (daw) who saw a movie ni FPJ.... wherein the scenario was... FPJ's character had his back to a bad guy... bad guy has a clear shot at FPJ, who as of the moment seems to be totally unware of the bad guy who will cowardly shoot him from behind....as the bad guy is about to shoot him people watching the movie shouted "SA LIKOD MO!!!!" as the bad guy is about to pull the trigger one person from the audience decides to take matters into his own hands and shoots the bad guy with a REAL GUN. BANG!!!

the administration declared pacman as a hero because as for them pacman is trying to unite the filipinos. which is true kay boxing na gane ni pacman, wa kaau tao sa malls or sa streets man lang. but that doesnt mean agree q na he is a hero.
and sa opposition side pud, they are promoting jlo. haiii naku. para lage oust na si pgma.
both sides have their instruments to cover up the whole.

Calling a boxer a hero is like calling Michael Jordan a hero. A great athlete, but the title hero was made for people greater who have accomplished something more than athletic achievement.

Kamo dugay na kaayo sa balita . Even way back when Manny was already fighting in Vegas , he already was burning money in poker and was already womanizing . I even got the chance to ask for his authograph while he as across our table in Club Saphhire with 4 strippers with him and about 4 bodyguards .

That was like about 4 years ago . Wala na modako iyahang ULO . Even sa wala pa na siya ni sikat , bisyo na niya na , sugal ug chics. All he need to do is set priority and he should think twice before its too late . That is still the same MANNY PACQUAIO you see before , ang nakalahi lang kay his bank accounts right now are fatter than before but personally , walay kausaban .

And him considered as a HERO ? YES ! Arent all FILIPINOS UNITED bisan ug pipila lang ka GUTLO everytime he fights ? Where MUSLIMS and CHRAISTIANS are one . Where there is no COP and ROBBER CHASE . Where the OPPOSITION ceases to throw FULL of SHIT ACCUSATIONS to the ADMIN . LMFAO !!
