hahay.......
heheee i dont think so mas expensive ghapon ang mac, why for a pirated virus software or theres even a free software and they work much better than branded, for moding as little as 1k u can make ur ordinary biege case into a celebrity makeover PC, and in MAC ur only stuck on campatibility software while in PC "versitility" GYUD!!!!! weeeeeee!!!!Originally Posted by archille
pero sa notebooks mas ok ra ang mac like ibook compare to other budget laptop,the use and functions are just the same (E.G. surf, entertain, encode & burn)

Modding for P1k? that means buying a couple of glowing fans and a blue light stick will make it beautiful?
yes it will (makes it look cool) and the fans help on the cooling process of the system itself, and for starters im in to gaming which apples systems literally dont support that much. and you cant overclock apple systems to your hearts desire. pc works better for me.
Hey, i have an iMac here in office but I only use it for a bigger version of Ipod =)
modding is not a waste of time, money or effort.
i mean where's the GLORY in Mac machines anyway? you're stuck with it.
where is the GLORY if you see a very cool hardware (vcard, proc, ram, mobo, etc) if you can't upgrade a Mac?
all you have to do is buy a new one. (isn't this a lot more expensive?)
why would people mod their PCs?
1. well, it's fun!
2. make yourself proud
3. their is a satisfaction after you've finished doint it.
- you can compare this to why people mod their cars, bikes and etc.
- it brings glory to them
4. to be UNIQUE.
actually, you can mod a MAC. You just have to know where to find the parts.
Why do MAC users don't mod? because there's almost no need to. Physically, it's attractive as it is. Did anyone say graphics? Apple's Graphics, GUI and memory management is far more efficient than PCs out of the box!
Updates on MACs are definite improvements and not patches.
Coolness factor out of the box!
5 different ways of explaining the same thing. Just insert dull between "their" & "PC". Ligthen up.Originally Posted by fd

@fd: I am one of the pioneers in Cebu when it comes to modding..back when we actually had to make the mods.. not some snap-on modular "modders" that are so common to the hobby now and NO, I AM IN NOW WAY INSULTED. It is true, the common PC is very boring, it is a dull box...that is why we mod our rigs in the first place.. or has that little thought evaded you? I don't know about the current "poser" modders..but when I did my first mod a couple of years back..i thought to myself: "fu ck this is a boring box..what can i do about it?"
@gtjr_ph:
only maybe cos you don't have access to "art" businesses or you've been looking at a point of view from the Philippines only. There are actually a lot of businesses who use legit software and it's cheaper to buy the legit version of most software for a Mac. It also provides better efficiency, security, and stability that most of these companies seek from a computer.dull ang ila kay way halin d parehas pc naka penetrate na for so many years
@koto (and wikki)
Frankly, timezone friends as we are, you sounded like you never go to school with that rude and irrational comment you just gave. Joke or no joke. The key reason for letting people know that it's easy to use a mac is that there is a very big misconception that it is difficult to use a mac. The truth is it is just as easy to use as any Windows-based computer it's just that Windows tolerates a lot of things which is why it has all the popular "flaws". Having to take care of those flaws Apple ends up with a slightly different, better, a bit complicated, but easy to learn approach.dull but not stupid, have u notice sa AD's sa apple -their will be an ordinary person or a celebrity talking how easy to use a mac, from wat i observe this guys "maybe" dont know how to use a PC or lazy enough to know how, so MAC's are for low IQ people heheee
People who worry a lot about a lot of things sometimes resort to a Mac.. I don't think using their brains to do a smart thing are signs of a low IQ..don't you think so too?
@obemon:
So are we supposed to give a rat's ass about a comment from someone who doesn't really care about the topic discussed? Worship apple, what's worship got to do with it? Do you worship AMD? The topic was mainly about Apples approach at advertising their new setup..If you don't give a crap then it's best that you refrain from posting such comments.So are we suppose to worship Apple for finally opening up the full potential of Intel chips? Yeah right. Steve Jobs can kiss my ass. Who gives a crap really. I use AMD chips anyway
@koto (again):
note bold.heheee i dont think so mas expensive ghapon ang mac, why for a pirated virus software or theres even a free software and they work much better than branded, for moding as little as 1k u can make ur ordinary biege case into a celebrity makeover PC, and in MAC ur only stuck on campatibility software while in PC "versitility" GYUD!!!!! weeeeeee!!!!

What the? Your worship pirated..you think they work better than branded. wtf dude? Pirated software IS "branded" software sans the paying up from your end part.
for 1k budgets:
You are being unfair when you compare Mac and PC that way. Don't compare mac to OEM products, China substitutes, and other user assembled units. At least try to compare them with what Dell, HP, or any other company that has computer sets. Apple would still come up expensive, i know but at least the comparative prices put up won't be biased. We, well most of us who did our reading anyway, know why Apple's a bit expensive. They could definitely use a lowering of prices but i don't expect them to go down to PC price levels..again because of a number of reasons. Hell, if they started offering make-your-own mac program at cheaper prices..i'd switch to a mac for my work computer almost instantly.
@Archille
lol yeah. I'd like to see someone get a decent mod for 1kModding for P1k? that means buying a couple of glowing fans and a blue light stick will make it beautiful?after factoring everything like raw materials, power, gas, etc.
@wikki (again):
well then you have just confessed yourself to a biased opinion when you refuse to discuss the topic at other points.
I do have some points i wish to share:
as a former modder, overclocker, and total PC-whore:
1. assuming you're aircooled: you only really need a max of 1 fan intake and 2 outtakes. Any more and you'll only be disturbing the airflow and generate noise..decreasing the noise to efficiency ratio.
2. overclocking is not something that is common to even a decent 1/3 of the PC market. Also of the overclockers only a very small percent do it because they really have to.. Most of them are just for "trying to squeeze the max" from your hardware but not really using the computer to their potential. Even, I am guilty once or twice of overclocking without really needing it.
3. PC works better for you. You couldn't have been more right! With your interests then a PC most definitely suits you.
@fd:
like what pnoize said.
i'm just trying to ride your analogy.. all your points above are correct.why would people mod their PCs?
1. well, it's fun!
2. make yourself proud
3. their is a satisfaction after you've finished doint it.
- you can compare this to why people mod their cars, bikes and etc.
- it brings glory to them
4. to be UNIQUE.
though with the car modding analogy..i've found a litle something.
Japanese car users are very fond of modding their cars because their drivers want, well, your points above. Then there are the European sports cars who hardly go (if at all) through any body modifications simply because their users are very happy with what they have.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you
@zerone_null: sakit ta pud ana nga word uneducated ta,... since im a major in advertising, im just trying to ctritic the apple tv AD commercial since most of the mac users in that commercial are dumb enough to tell us how her digicam automatical detect on a mac, well sa win XP same raman sad, my 5yr old nephew can even do that, pero i admit grabe sad ka nindot uban nilang ad's like the ipods,Originally Posted by Zerone_null

ohhh yeah.. sa 1k mod walay labot ang tools only the materials (like: plexi, led fans, & paints)
if u have a creative idea its more than beutiful, but i guess mac users have limitations to be creative.Originally Posted by archille
