mao bitaw ni-react kay walay basis.... saonz! kay if niingon pa lang sila na philippine politicians are corrupt, ok ra coz i think everybody knows na daghan man jud corrupt sa PInas... di ba?
Wala'y basis? LOL. The nursing examination scandal is more than enough, it has caught worldwide attention. And yes, I've read somewhere in this thread that makapalit lang ug diploma somewhere in Recto.

We actually don't have to go to the specifics because such a fiasco has really tainted the image of the Filipinos, especially in the medical field. Be it nursing, or medicine itself, it won't matter, nursing is still medical after all. Whether it's intentional, satiric, or just plain humor, for sure what Teri Hatcher has said really does have substance. Reality bites, truth hurts.

Most Filipinos don't only feel, they also think, supposedly. There are levels and appropriateness of reaction according on how we perceive and analyze things.

Why not give some perspective to emphasize that this hullaballoo is not all about racism, insult, putting down the
Filipinos, discrimination, defending our pride, our race, etc., but simply an over-reaction about a TV show.

    1. What if Dugong or some fictional characters on a Filipino teleseries put down 'some med schools in the US'?
Do you think the US americans would react the same way? Without thinking, one would say 'no' because
they never care to watch Filipino TV. From that simplistic answer alone, this commotion would have been
avoided simply by not watching american television! oooops! Yeah, that's silly. But seriously, it's not hard to
think why they would not react the same way, I don't have to elaborate here.
    2. What if some wacky Chinese official announced that the Philippines invented corruption? How would the
Filipinos react? Well, that's a given. Now compare how did the billion chinese reacted when some philippine
senator said that. Only the appropriate Chinese agencies dealt with it.
    3. There are countless of abused, humiliated Filipinos working around the world like Hongkong, Saudi, the
Iraq,... but how come most Filipinos who feel didn't give as much a loud howl? Is it because it's not in the
    limelight?
    4. Anybody who has applied for immigration knows how their philippine education is being downgraded to very
low equivalents in the host countries. Is it a case of being put down? yes. Is it insulting? yes. Is it
considered discrimination? yes, Official Discrimination. Well, from our point of view. It is not a case of two
fictional american characters talking about some med schools in the Philippines, but it's the Government of a
country telling you, "Mr. Juan dela Cruz, your education is worth only this much in our country. Take it or
leave it". Now where are the likes of Kevin Nadal and some Filipino senators, and most feeling Filipinos? this
has been going on for a long time now but I've yet to find an online petition or hear statements from some
senators asking apology from these countries for putting down our education, racism, discrimination, blah,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! Or maybe these Governments advertise their minimum requirements for
    immigration on TV. yeah, TV!

    @yokam

actually, i think, the specifics is what caused all this reactions against the said discrimination.. Medical professionals, products of med schools in the phils., are being generalized as part of the scandal.. and implied/labeled as incompetent..
If terry hatcher was given a script with a pejorative term such as "nig*er".. do you think she'd say it? i dont think so.. If she was black, maybe that would be accepted by the black community and find it funny..
Yeah, truth hurts, but what hurts more is if its not the truth.. Med products/professionals from med schools in the philippines are not incompetent..
