The US Marines in World War II didn't do waterborne invasions in the Philippines--Peleliu was the closest they ever got to our country.

But yeah, EP5 (Peleliu) was a blast. Reminds me a lot of the opening sequence of "Saving Private Ryan", with the exception that they're on LVTs instead of Higgens.

BTW I really enjoyed how the gunny reprimanded the LT when he brandished his Colt .45 at the firing range--he reminded me of Sergeant Major Basil Plumley in "We Were Soldiers". Oh, the funny scene where gunny was bathing in the rain, and then kalit ra nag-undang ang ulan and he was still covered in soap!
