I bought the 360 version and finished the SP campaign over the weekend, and have been
playing a lot of multiplayer lately.
-For the campaign
MW2 is definitely more explosive than the first one with it's missions. The graphics
has been tweaked a bit as well to give you an even better uban realistic look.
Storywise though, I still prefer the previous Modern Warfare. I thought the first one told
a better story while this second one felt like a Michael Bay film. It's good don't get me
wrong, it just didn't capture my attention that much like the first one.
-Multiplayer
Like the first one, it's very addictive and now with 10x the amount of stuff you can unlock
and will keep rewarding you as you continue to play the game. Seriously the multiplayer
seems to reward you for just bout anything, even for mediocrity. I remember getting rewarded
for just running around the map like a fool, got one for actually doing nothing, and even got a reward for farting. (ok I made the last one up but you get my point).
My only small gripe bout the multiplayer at the moment is that as a NZ player... most of the time I keep getting matched up with American players. This always guarantees me a yellow bar. The game
is still playable but you know the story... in a given tight situation, you know you shot
the enemy first as you saw it on your screen, but the Killcam tells a different story
otherwise. Makes you feel like youre retarded or something. I'm hoping IW can tweak the
Matchmaking a little bit more and give more priority for a lower ping game when you're
finding a match.
Overall, Modern Warfare 2 live up to it's hype. Unless of course you had unrealistic
expectations then you might be dissapointed. This game doesn't reinvent the wheel, it just
refines it.
