The Department of Science and Technology's Project Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards (NOAH) on Wednesday night uploaded a video simulation created by the UK's Met Office showing how super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) will slam into the country.

Project NOAH, in its blog, also listed hundreds of towns in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao that will be affected by 60 mm to 100 mm 3-hour accumulated rainfall that will be brought by the tropical cyclone.

Project NOAH head Dr. Mahar Lagmay also issued a storm surge threat warning for coastal areas in the path of the typhoon.
Here's a cool video. Notice the first dot starts at 2PM and each succeeding dot is a 6-hour interval.

Now we all know this is now late because based on the dot they marked as "Enters PAR" they predicted the typhoon to enter PAR at around 10AM later (Nov. 7), but the other news sites are claiming that Yolly has already breached PAR around the 1AM mark a while ago.

This, to me, is good news. It means Yolly is traveling faster that what PAGASA and other weather agencies are predicting. Which also means it will pass us by at a short time limiting both amount of rainfall and damage/injury to property and people due to it's massively strong winds.

Hope I am right on this...
