No, there is no direct command from GOD that such should be done,
the war before with the persians was essentially man made.
tell that to the north koreans..
are you really sure there wasnt?
anyways, all the wars chronicled in the bible had been justified saying God had been on their side..
another example would be the crusades, where in the name of God, there was unnecessary killings of muslims. another example would be the whole jihad thing of muslim extremists..

and I guess is what the church should do in the first place. Let me reiterate that they do agree with the rhytm method, re-adjusting to that dilemma.

There is always that thing called beneficial to everyone, we call it fairness.

Limitting human beings capacity to flourish before,
would retard our progress, we need manpower to move us forward,
i would agree that there a lack of thourough understanding of the rythm method.. thats why it most often fails.. its just too hard to follow... there are too many uncontrollable variables.. and also, it would limit s3x to just a few days a month.. the problem is the space between...

condoms and other contraceptives on the other hand are more concrete measures, anytime pwede.. and a lot easier to use.. its use can be explained in less than 5mins..

also consider that there are flourishing cultures in the philippines that practice polygamy..

there is no such thing as fairness. by human nature, it is for the sake of survival and the propagation of species to find/create whatever advantage over others we can get... its ugly, but its reality..

it would retard our progress if we support a population that is unhealthy, uneducated and generally unproductive... it would retard our progress if we squander our limited resources.. we should focus more on raising a population that can contribute to society..

If only all of them North and South are Cristians,
and believe vehemently in the teachings of Jesus Christ, then I do believe war would
    never exist.

War in that era has been justified only by those who wage that war by using GOD's name,
I think they have no other option as to let the faith survive when it is in threat against
an opposing force, unite the followers through the name of GOD. It's instinctive and is a
human trait, but GOD did not commanded them to do so.

I think rhytm method would even teach an individual who practiced it about abstinence,
making him less vurnerable with temptations, hence inclined to stick only to one partner,
and therefore will have lesser tendencies of acquiring AIDS and other STD's.

For those who wish to rise above others, and only think about themselves, it is more likely
that they don't understand what fairness should be. They should be reminded that fairness
equates to justice, and justice is what should dominate as per humanitarian rule.

    Agree on the last remarks,
but it's should not be implemented a long time ago, when we still have to develop,
we cannot really move forward with just a handfull of manpower available.
There should be a balance between the requirements and the supply.

as ive mentioned in another thread, abstinence only forms the first defense.. combining it with a second defense like condoms would drastically reduce the chances of undesirable outcomes.. (HIV and unwanted pregnancies)

do consider that there are groups here in the phils that practice polygamy.. we cannot say their culture is wrong by using your christian standards... lets respect their culture/beliefs..

kinsa ba diay ganahan under2x-on tawn oi?... with limited resources, its human survival instinct to hoard resources to ensure the well-being of future generations.. we are not a communist country.. let each man sow to what he reaps.. kung maningkamot cya og maau cya modiskarte, it would be injustice for him to be rewarded equally with those of lesser effort.
