For me, Jesus' true identity is far from being trivial. For Christians it is actually of utmost importance.

If i may try bro, its because thats what is being told by the church & you wholeheartedly accept it, same as the other camp, as for me seeing both camps as valid, i set aside what is "irreconcilable" & gather the similarities

Then if it works with you bro, meaning you become a better person (w/c i sense in you) then go for that faith.. Much as you might also wish that other peoples faith will bring them to the same goodness.
Faith is a personal thing bro, its reasonableness lies in the efficacy that it contributes to our spiritual maturity.

^ Okay, suppose though sir that Jesus really did rise from the dead. That would mean that he validated his claim to being God. Now, remember that he said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." That would mean that we can only find salvation from our sins through him. Thus, goodness alone wouldn't be good enough.

Again, just a side comment; How we look at other sects is also how they look at us and of the others. We are atheists with respect to each other, for he who does not beleive what I believe is a heretic and must die. This leaves the atheist themselves, a neutral camp instead of being an opposition to the entire spiritual environments. Jesus, man or god, has different drives for different individuals; this is how you believe this is how I believe, let it be.

In Eastern Mysticism, the I AM that I AM refers to the CORE DIVINE ESSENCE of man and not only to Jesus The Christ which is very exclusive to Christianity.

Thus, in essence the I AM IS THE WAY THE TRUTH and THE LIFE is actually I AM IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE which means to say GOD WITHIN US is THE WAY, TRUTH AND THE LIFE!

The KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN US which is the TRUE DIVINITY OF MAN and not only possessed exclusively by JESUS but by all humanity!

Catholics and protestants still have a lot of way to realize when it comes to the DIVINITY of MAN and not only to JESUS the CHRIST!
