i have come to enjoy watching the races and hear stories of hubby when he was still a kid w/ his first tamiya(and not knowing anything at all basta mo dagan lng..lol) and rediscovering it now, of seeing father/daughter/son teams and gf & bf teams..so i would hate this hobby & passion fade just because there are few new bloods/newbies who are not afraid of being eaten by the great masters...
Soooo if you guys & gals wouldnt mind a suggestion or two..i'd like to share an idea or two..IDEA 1: how about categorizing the races into two/three categories..category a: newbies only; category b: open for all..etc..you guys decide on the guidelines on how to categorize players based on how many races/months/years he/she has played maybe? and when to let them 'graduate' to another level..IDEA 2: a workshop/quick lesson on whats what for the all the newbies out there dying to join but not knowing where to start or what to buy before a race..hehehe..it a needs a lot of work i agree but i know a lot of you guys are willing to spare a minute or two before any race to teach a newbie on what to do/ not to do(seen this happen alot of time) if he asks for help (but what about the ones who are a bit shy?lol)..if ever this will happen im pretty sure we all will be seeing a lot of new faces joining us in future races..more people=more fun=tamiya is here to stay for a looong time, right? hehehehe.. hope you lot wouldn't find my suggestion offensive or take it the wrong way..annnd i have to stop blabbing coz hubby says im gonna scare you guys or hunt me down the next race for being 'baga' coz im telling u guys how to do/run your race....cant help it, lol! *peace* thanks for reading..^_^
I totally agree about teaching newbies. It would save them time and money in the long run. If somebody would organize a workshop, I would be glad to help out. But the thing is, newbie sad ko sa tech. I usually race open speedtech only. So I can help with the MS chassis but not much with the other kinds of chassis.
