This is good news!!! at least this deal will be enough to cover the loan payments for the SRP for a decade or so...Good job Mr. Mayor!

But still no reason to lose the public vigilance against corruption. The more deals our LGU's have, especially if it involves (very) large amounts of money, the more we should be vigilant. And especially if elections are nearing.

let me say it to you point blank... what are we to be wary about Tomas transactions? that it is straight? naa ba transaction ang gobyerno nga straight? sa 20 years namo nga pangontrata sa gobyerno, WALA GYUD BISAN USA NGA STRAIGHT TRANSACTION.

like I said, Capitol warning the public about the SM-SRP deal is like a pot calling the kettle black. But then again, even if Capitol does warn us or not, dili nata angay warningan pa. We should use our negative perception about gov't corruption and turn into positive action and to energize us into being more vigilant.

The means just don't justify the end my friend. That's one big reason why the Phils not moving forward as we should because of that mentality. Anha na molihok kung uwahi na ang tanan. In fairness to other contractors dealing w/ the gov't, your statement is harsh and unfair. You cannot generalize your 20 yr experience as the same with the others you know. It's not the WHEN: the length of time you dealt w/ them that is relevant. IT IS THE HOW.

Anyways...with this newly inked deal between SRP and SM is very good news and a reason to celebrate. Kudos to Mayor Tom! As a Cebuano, I am proud! But I will keep my fingers crossed...
