Numbers don't really matter... it's how a go-to-guy leads his team to an accomplishment, not just through scoring but the leadership he commits in order for them to improve, mature and understand what the game is all about.

of course, kung LEGENDARY PLAYER ka, dapat mamuntos ka. kung LEGENDARY TEAM ka, its all about winning games. being part of a legendary team is better than being a legendary player who makes all legendary points but doesnt get his team involved, ergo making his teammates feel USELESS. do you want to be remembered as that LEGENDARY PLAYER? Id rather be part of a LEGENDARY team and score 2 points per game.

Kobe owns this thread LITERALLY, hands-down, if we consider "BEST" as having the highest score made in a single game but there are other factors to consider in this game and not just points. basketball, as long as i can remember "was" a team game and i believe it still "is". "MVP" is the highest individual honor bestowed upon a player by the professional league they belong to, in which case the NBA asks this simple quetion "Which NBA player means the most to his team?" and thus we get a more specific answer. but the word "BEST"? that's as broad as politics and religion wherein there's just no specific criteria in dealing with it. granting that Kobe already have championship rings with L.A., the jury is still out on him, can he "REPEAT" before his carrier is over? as far as "BEST" is concerned, it was the "Raptors"(3rd worst team in the league as of today) that he scored 81 against. can he score 60 against the Spurs and Pistons? if he does, then MAYBE just MAYBE, i'll consider him as my "BEST" nba player right now. why don't we decide what this thread's subject "BEST NBA PLAYER" means first before we go on further.. then maybe we'll all be in the same page.. it's hard to argue when we don't know what we're arguing about..
