If I killed a kitten for every person that posts in this thread that does now know what they are talking about, there would be very many dead kittens. There is a generalization in every sentence. There is ignorance in every other sentence. There is stupidity every other word. Everyone is looking for someone to blame, the US, the American people, the Filipino people, the Filipino government ... in the end ... there is no one to blame because it is a goddamn joke. Have any of you seen Borat? Have any of you seen the South Park movie? Sure it's funny to watch things that are not talking about the Philippines, but suddenly it's gotten out of hand. Nigga pls. I'd rather prove them wrong than mag over react ko as in O.A. kaayo. Remember she did say "SOME". So katong mga GUILTY, na belong to sa "SOME" schools hehe. And in the first place, TV show ra to just like what we have in our country, eat bulaga, wowowee, bubble gang, etc.

There really is a point to react about it but sometimes we just have to accept the fact (although depressing) that we Pinoys are beeing looked upon as mediocre workers.

That is why there really is a need for us to show and prove to those people that we are people of standard. :mrgreen:

Filipinos Should be taught about Racial or Ethnical Respect

The television show Desperate Housewives rocked the whole country and other Filipinos abroad just recently because of a single sentence uttered by one of its characters during its September 30 episode.

Ironically, some Filipinos whined to high heavens after hearing that “insulting” line, but have overlooked their own crap right under their noses. Racial discrimination is as normal as breathing in the Philippines.

It’s high time for the whole of the Philippines’ to be taught to respect other races’ or ethnics’ culture, accent (when speaking tagalog or English), skin color, clothes.

In Philippine television and movies, racial discrimination has been going on unchecked and consequently accepted as normal by the general population. Philippines shows are even harsher and racist compared to shows in the west.

Bisayans are depicted as ignorant and dumb and ridiculed for their accent when speaking tagalog, the Philippines’ first official language. Even the Batanguenio accent is not spared, though it is considered the pure tagalog.
I must admit that making fun at dark-skinned people used to be one in my joke list. Now matured and have learned to be considerate of other people’s feelings, making fun at peoples’ skin color should now be always avoided.

So anyone of you reading this especially if you have the connection to people who are in the Senate, Congress, or any politicians please relay the principle of this blog post that they create a law against discrimination.

To those who are in the entertainment, please avoid making stories that poke fun at peoples’ skin color, race, accent, sexuality, appearance and culture.

Actually, i dont care with this issue at all. Ang ako lang : that's what they think about us. Why can't we accept it? That simple...

If anyone would read my reply in another thread...i was more shocked that we really care about this issue that the insult itself. I mean, there are more important issues that we should put our attention to...corruption, smuggling, murder...etc. That's why i consider this much attention very pathetic.

And i disagree with spoil when he said that we have high literacy rate. From Macapagal's time, there is actually a dramatic decline in our literacy. Our number one school based on Asian survey is UP Diliman and it only ranks 75th in Asia. More people keeps failing in IELTS every year...

What im trying to say is...we should move on and get over ourselves. Dili ni importante!
