Spigen Slim Armor View for Note 3 - INITIAL REVIEW & OBSERVATION

Common nga naa available sa mga local shops are the Samsung Wallet Flip Cover nga plain screen cover ra and the S View Cover that gives you a basic access to phone while the screen cover is closed.

What I dont like sa Samsung nga cover is, firstly, you need to replace the back cover of your N3 to attach the case. As the screen cover of the case is prone to twist and bend, the strain is transferred to the latches that keeps the back cover in place. Secondly, the screen cover has not latch or strap to secure it sa unit.

I checked for some outdoor type cover and found Trident Kraken AMS and SPG Slim Armor View. Eventually I chose SPG. It provides a flip cover protection with S View feature but the back shell wraps around the whole N3 unit. To enable the S View feature however, kinahanglan gyapon nimo tangtangon ang back cover sa unit.



QUALITY & PERFORMANCE
The case has a perfect fit to the unit. Medyo lisod lang gamay when you first slip the N3 inside the case especially sa power and volume bottons. There is a decent seal between the case edges and the N3 edges both on the screen and the camera port at the back as well as the ports.



The case provides a good 360 degrees bump and scratch protection. Not splash and dust proof though kay open ang mga ports (audio, USB, mic, etc.). Ang screen cover latches in place when you close it and needs a bit of nudging to open it back. Not so handy for those who keeps on opening and closing the cover. Same for those who have large fingers.



The case has an elegant matte black finish. Be sure you have cleans fingers when you handle it because its an oil and fingerprint magnet! Same with the S View window.

S View window works but not as sensitive as the screen itself. Screen turns on when you open the front cover and switches to S view when you close the front cover.

COUNTERFEIT NOTICE
If you are a prospect buyer of the Slim Armor View, be aware of counterfeit that is already circulating. I've seen one and what catches my attention is th bigger front button as compared to the genuine case.

Spigen has a website that allows you to check whether the unit you purchase is genuine or not.

Nice review boss @Tamblot. I have that case too but I prefer my UAG more. I am really not a big fan of flip cases just bought it out of curiosity. No question about the protection and quality. I find it annoying lang cge pakli2x...hehehe

I am also using a flip cover case for my note 3. All I can say is, my phone looks much more classy without it. Definitely better in naked white.

If you are looking for the USB cable similar to the one included with the N3 unit, that is a USB 3.0 and I think there are still very limited 3rd party cables available around. Magamit lang gyapon nimo ang standard Micro USB 2.0 cable that are compatible to Samsung phones. Just be careful in plugging in the USB 2.0 cable to the USB 3.0 port of N3. There is a mechanical guide in the connector that separate the standard USB 2.0 pins and the additional pins for 3.0 support.

There are some instances that the S View functional for this case doesn't work especially when the N3 comes from a cold boot. At times, I just need to restart the unit and S View comes back working.

WHAT IS WITH NOTE 3 THAT YOU CHOSE IT OVER OTHER SMARTPHONES?

Screen Digitizer. Its not just a common capacitive touch screen. It has digitizer underneath that allows you to use the S Pen in countless of ways.

Dual Window. Only a few out there is capable of this. Yes for selected apps only but it provides a lot of convenience when jotting down notes while youre on a call.
