    Are you using Nikon? Get the 50mm f1.8 instead. There is not much difference compared to the f1.4, at least the way I see it in wide-open setting.

    Thanks IAN. 50mmF1.4 3X more expensive than the F1.8... both are CHINA make.
    I guess I'll go for the cheaper 1.8 version. and save the extra bucks.
    am planning to get the lightsphere II next month, its not available here locally.

    am nikon user bdway, this r my starter kit:
    D70S body w/ HKJenis vertical grip
    Standard 18-70mm/F3.5-5.6 nikkor
    Tele 80-200mm/F2.8 nikkor
    Prime 85mm/F1.8 nikkor
    standard 24-135mm/F3.5-5.6 tamron
    SB-600 with stofen
    a couple of 1GB and a 2GB Sandisk CFCs
    filters..

    Sony DSC-P93 with marine pack
    vari-color filter
    Sealife strobe

    Yeah its a lot cheaper sir though I am craving for the 85mm f1.4 but the 50mm f1.8 is just a great lens for a crop body.

    I'll get that when Nikon goes FF. For now am pretty happy with the 17-35mm f2.8 as my walk-around lens. I also use it on my Nikon F5 for school works so its really wide enough for landscapes and stuff.

    Sir TwinJet, go for the Nikon 17-35mm. Its a legend! The best in its class. Super sharp and everything.. its kinda heavy but still you won't regret it.
