have tried using it sir.. a mac book. a macbook pro. and a quad g5 b4..

using photoshop...fast machine..not to many shortcuts.

if i will have a chance to built a pc of same price of ur mac.i can assure u to work on that, a lot can be done to thermodamically streamline the innards of the pc .


say what u want..insults and all, that doesn't help the fact that Mac is just another hyped sleek box with intel parts inside..and it be a matter of time before it will be hit..

and when that happens.. i would want a copy and experience it myself in my hackintoshed pc..

genuine mac is just too expensive to burn.

and MAC is generally for the ELITE who does not : know how / want to know how / like / to assemble a great pc for their money...they just grab a WELL ENGINEERED sleek box (with all its apps etc...) and pay..

i was re-reading this thread and just a note on this statement, a Mac is not just for the ELITE. its for everyone. you just have to make a choice really. im not belonging to an elite group. just a middle-class man but i do enjoy the comfort of using immediately a readily available personal computer. Maybe there are people out there who dont have the know how or wouldnt want to tinker on their rigs but there are also people who have the knowledge to do such.

Please dont generalize a mac to be for an upper-class person or a person whos ignorant in computers.

A friend of mine and my self work both with macs and windows based PCs. we have no complaints nor make comparisons on the two. important thing is, both rigs get the job done. a cousin of mine uses macs in their design firm. puro macs pero they also have windows based PCs in their homes. A comment my mum made, using a mac is easier for her since everything is just laid out in front cleanly on the dock. this can also be done in the windows based pcs by putting the shortcuts on the desktop or perhaps running an object dock. Another opinion from a friend, most of us if not all started out with Windows. Maybe thats perhaps why people would opt to use Windows and say its more user friendly than a mac. He thinks otherwise. If a mac were introduced, it would be the other way around.

As ive said again and again, it all boils down to preference really.

I was listening to the Leo Laporte's TWIT podcast and there was this one episode where he was talking to this Asian Tech guy. Well,their conversation eventualy went to PCs and Mac and how americans prefers Macs and Asians like PC's. They kinda concluded that PC's are prefered by asian not just because it's cheaper but because that we asians are more intelligent and have the patience towork with crap-ware like windows. While,americans are much much more "lazy" and "stupid".

I have a mac and I also have a pc and a linux box. I have fewer headaches with a mac. The PC works also only if you buy from a brand name like Dell. If you go the DIY way of assembling a PC ,be prepared to lose a lot of hair.

I don't believe that Americans prefer MACS and ASIANS prefers PC's, that's just a clueless generalization. I think PC's still dominates the market today and is more widely used amongst fortune 500 companies.

i beg to disagree. so far, i've had no problems with this. DIY is fun, and exciting. well, at least this is for those who enjoy spending most of their time inside the PC rather than in front of it... a PC is always a work in progress.
