    people...all sorts there is...

from politicians,to celebrities down to the masses...but it boils down to who has the power...

commercialization will always be there...but it should come hand in hand with fairness and equality...BUT to start with I really don't believe that there's such thing as absolute fairness and equality...everything is unfair...

SHAME on you media, especially ABS-CBN!

they decide what news and whats not. dont you think thats sensorship in their end also

You think you’re above the law? You are as arrogant as Trillanes & Co. You should show more respect for the authorities who are only there to protect the people (including you) and uphold the law. It is always a lose-lose situation when the police face the egoistic media.

If all he** broke loose during the Manila Pen standoff and some media men lost their lives, the police will be blamed, but then if the police try to [perform] their duties, the media cries harassment.

You think only GMA should reform? Think again; the media should reform too.

It seems media today has nothing to think about but scoops. Regardless of whether or not there's any truth to anything they've got, they will report it immediately. What's important now is that they will be the first to deliver the news to the people.

They are delivering news faster but they are not being responsible with the way they are delivering the news. They are delivering scoops but the veracity of the information is not clear at all. How can we depend on them if they are all speculations?

commercialization can be allowed in certain areas and certain commodities. but as it appears now, we are experiencing the adverse effects of how me commercialize the mass media. we know that how the media works, from the way it shapes our tastes and opinions, to how we construe contemporary social realities, and how we react to them. still, instead of assuming responsibility on the direction to where mass media and news reporting is taking us, we instead give up this responsibility to the profit-oriented companies. in effect, the fate the contemporary culture, the attitudes, and the social outlook of an entire people is placed on the hands of companies who are willing to sacrifice these for the sake of ratings and profit.

whether or not such things as 'absolute fairness and equality' exists is irrelevant. what matters is how we deal with what we have now and change it for the better. we might never reach the heights of the supreme absolutes, but it is better to try and approach them, than to just stay where we are and say that our current situation can never be better.

but i think as media people they should in most times be free from biases and the likes...
biases of all kinds will always exist. that should be something that must be acknowledged by all.

however, what matters is which biases should take precedence. when both exists in conflict with each other, what should prevail, must it be the biases in favor of the people, or biases in favor of profit?
