for me, filipino special effects is still not acceptable, take for example mga old version sa superman, mas realistic ang flying effects nila kaysa mga salida na pinoy.. sad to say but for me wala jud ni improve, ni colorful ra, nothing more...not realistic at all

Ambot nato oi nga nabiyaan naman ta og maau when it comes to the special effects dept. But i think all we need is one movie with great special effects and the rest will follow. Richness jud ang makabuhat ana sa first. Unsaon man nga during Filmfest ra man sila maninguha og buhat og nice movies (di pa jud tanan). But if you're looking for quality movies, it's during these times that you'll find one.

after observing some of our commercials, they have better special effects than any of our films.

well, some of our movies seem to have been improving on the special effects department. but then we don't see any breathtaking movies with great sotryline that has breathtaking special effects.

last year's manila film festival showcases Agimat, Lastikman and hula mo, huli ko. not really great movies but they claim ahs really great special effects.

I dunno thoughm but if you have such great special effects, why not do something original with it? lastikman and agimat had that matrix bullet dodge, I would've been impresserd i haven't seen it before. are filipino movies just stuck on the telenovela galore?

oh yeah, the award of the best badass poster goes to alamat ng lawin, never seen it but i'm sure it sucks. fernando poe in pink? characters in rather out of place colorful costume, priceless....

Well, the Indie films are really good. Mao ra na akoa ganahan I watch na mga new Filipino movies. I'm more into the 50's, 60's and 70's na Filipino movies. Mas malingaw ko sa mga movies ana na era.
