yep indeed Isabel Allende's House of the Spirits, Jostein Gaarder's Sophie's World, and One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez are to be recommended :mrgreen:

if you like historical detective fiction with a different twist try reading The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. very enlightening!

i also suggest reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. makes you think twice about the whole good vs. evil story
