sand is ok but the masters here usually used "ginabas" or "rice shreddings"

it is much easier to clean and avoids fowl smell because the poops are dried faster

differences between japanese and oeg breed are usually identifiable through:

tails/lawin

japanese= shorter lawin and more erect yet short fantail like feature

oeg= longer lawin and more longer fantail feature (same sa panabong)

body structure

japanese= u shaped body structure

oeg= the lenght between the head and tail are farther enough not to form any u shape form
