Most people probably don't know that there are THREE other claimants, namely Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Which is why I find it amusing that some people are turning this into a Philippines vs. China issue.

They can try. But if they can't win against Vietnam in 1979 not long after that country suffered the Vietnam War, I don't see why they should even flirt with going to war with us. They can however use our local troublemakers ie. the Maoist, New People's Arseholes to fight their war. A 'Proxy War'.
