Construction has started already. It's in the vacant lot across the defunt Uniwide Sales Building pala. Maybe because the UW Building will be converted into a Trade and Exhibition Center after Japanese Funding for it (CITEX) was approved.

The CICC by the way is no longer a "megadome" but looks more of an airport terminal instead.. Hehehe...

Medalla already had the proper documents from the design to its detail like the structural, electrical, plumbing and everything. Unfortunately, which is the usual thing to do, he kept it for the reason he haven't signed a document in black and white to guarantee that his design will be used in the said project and i don't know why Vice guv Sanchez used this to void Medallas award.

It's jst plain palusot! Stupid excuse. Medallaaj Architects is one of the best architects in Cebu that can submit detailed plans & specifications! Well sometimes we need to make a stand in what we beleive in. Every action we do has its reaction. Goodluck to Cebu on the CCIC, and More Power to Medallaj Architects! :mrgreen:

at least we now know it will be erected in mandaue.. gub-on nang uniwide building or isumpay na nila? murag duol duol ra man gud ang structural design niya sa new design.

Nope bai, actually the defunct Uniwide Sales Building is going to be converted into a trade and exhibition center --> Cebu International Trade and Exhibition Center (CITEX or CITEC). This facility would be like Bangkok's BITEC and Singapore's EXPO.

Japanese funding was already approved by NEDA last month. Before, we all thought that the proponents of this CITEC project gave up the site for the supposed Megadome but wala pala because the actual construction of the CICC (formerly megadome) was at the lot across and not on the U.S. lot itself. Whew, I hope this would be Mandaue Recla's chance to clean itself up and open its doors to more investors.


Anyway, there might be a probability that a "megadome" will rise in the SRP since the one in Mandaue City for the Summit is just a convention center ala PICC.. Hehehehehe... Who knows, the possibilities are infinite.
