1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
But we can rest and be assured that these judgments are not punitive and penal. All these have been exhausted in the death of Christ. These judgments are not from God to a criminal but from a Father to an erring son:
32 But when we [saved in Christ] are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
Bro your personal statement above is not biblical, because you've said:
"
God could chasten His erring children with physical death but this is not unto condemnation:"
then supported it with 1 Corinthians 11:30-31, just read the later part of 31 it says:
"that we may not be condemned with the world."
it clearly says that Christians are condemned but not together with the world because the world will be condemned by the Christians who will be included as mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
and these Christians that died in Christ and the alive that serve God shall judge the world and even the angels.
2 Do ye not know that the
saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3
Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
1 Corinthians 6:2-4
and these saints are not venerated by the Catholics, the saints here are Christians being washed by Baptism and serve Christ with Good works until the end of their lives and until the coming of Christ.
God judged early to Christians and Christ and Apostle Paul teach to judge or condemn inside the Church and cast them away outside the Church.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
1 Corinthians 5:11-13
Peace!
